Then why did you post it?
Josty, your the one posting stuff about modified girls bikes! :p

 @ Firefox emotion!!

The "usual" I suppose. Block other browsers from windows update due to "security reasons" etc..

I'll stick with My Maxthon....IE is rubbish.

I hate Firefox... you guys should stop jumping on the bandwagon because everyone else is. It's is the slowest thing I've ever seen... with all the so-called hacks done, it still feels like dial-up for me with a cable connection.

Either get Opera, Maxthon or stick with IE. Nothing wrong with IE if you know what you're doing... trust me.

:ban?:

Opera is a good second place. But everyone is entitled to his opinion. And what hacks are you talking about? The reason IE is slightly faster is because it's integrated into the OS, and IE is not in compliance with Internet standards. :)

Those pipelining things, where you increase the number of connection allowed or whatever. I forget exactly...

Even though IE is faster, even non native browsers like Opera are faster than Firefox... noticeably. I just don't see why people are so easily swayed into switching when Internet Explorer can work like a charm.

There's the fact that it has tabs, there's tons of extensions for it, code for the extensions is easy to write, so you can write your own. It virtually never crashes, mine has only crashes twice since version 0.9. It's opensource/free/sans ads. :)

a) Okay, it has tabs and IE doesn't. But I never undestood the point, why not open an extra window? We don't have to try and simplify every facet of our lives.
b) There's some add-ons for IE, and most of Firefox's are useless. I really don't need a built-in FTP client or a tiny weather icon.
c) Internet Explorer has never crashed on me, not once on my new computer which I've had for over a year now. Neither has Windows while we're on this topic.
d) IE is free too, considering we all run Windows. All you need is a good ad-blocker.

So Firefox has a built-in ad blocker, but I don't see any other reasons to switch and surrender speed and the low amount of memory used by IE. :D

Rebutle for:

A) I for one agree with the simplification of life argument, BUT a computer is not something I want MORE complicated, it's already running Windows. How much more chaos do you need?
B) I like my weather dealy for FireFox. I also like veiwing websites as they were intended to be viewed. And like you said IE has add-ons but FF has the essentials already built-in, and if they're not, there's one single place you can go to on the web to install them :)
C) I find that hard to believe, but I have no reason to doubt your word :)
D) I like my FilterSet.G for AdBlock. I NEVER see a single ad when I surf, ever. I doubt there's is anything like that for IE.

If you open another windows in IE it automatically uses up 7MB of memory. With FireFox you open a new tab, yes it takes more memory, but not as much :)

:firefox:

Good rebuttal, I like it. :D

a) I find getting used to the tabbed system more confusing if anything, you can't do it in other programs.
b) The problem is, there's more powerful apps that stick to your desktop and show you more information. Why did they feel the need to amalgamate everything into one?
c) I guess it's irrelevant.
d) I use Google Toolbar's ad blocker and it works perfectly fine... though it still doesn't block ads embedded into a page.

Point is, it's painfully slow... I'd rather forget about the weather app and skins and just use IE.

I don't use skins either, it just slows it down. But, hopefully one day, you will see the light ;) :p
You can't convert everybody :)

My favourite browser of all time is Avant Browser. It takes IE and changes it to the way it SHOULD have been. Its simple and does everything Firefox can do ;) The main reason why I dont use FireFox is cos it doesnt have google toolbar and really need that...
