A woman who hit four cars as she drove the wrong way up a dual carriageway for five miles is facing jail for drink driving.
Sonia Wright, 37, a mother of two, was more than twice over the legal limit as she drove the wrong way along the Norwich southern bypass at speeds up to 60mph, hitting at least four other vehicles.
Wright was forced to exit the A47 with her car badly damaged, two flat tyres and sparks coming from beneath it, Norwich magistrates were told.
Wright, from Wickhampton, near Great Yarmouth, pleaded guilty to charges of dangerous driving and drink-driving. She was referred to Norwich Crown Court for sentencing.
Gary Mayle, prosecuting, told the court that other drivers were "absolutely terrified" as Wright headed towards them on the dual carriageway in November. "'It was a horrific piece of driving," he said.
Police who arrested Wright said that the lowest breath test reading they obtained was 83mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath (the legal limit is 35). (Telegraph Online)
