hey i have 3 computers in my house and i was wondering if i could install something so it can measure the total amount of DL/UL on it. i know that DU Meter can measure 1 computer, but is there a program i can install on to my router and it counts all the DL/UL in my house?

your internet service provider sometimes offers simular services. Well mine does, check their site.

The only way I am aware of depends on whether your router supports SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol, which ironically is not simple at all). Most home routers do not have the advanced software required to support SNMP (usually only expensive ISP grade routers) or linux machines can be configured with SNMP.

Otherwise some ISPs (I don't know of any broadband ISPs in the US that do it) may provide the information through their website.

u can make a router out of an old linux box
that'll work nicer than your silly linksys or
w/e u have now

cool, i'll check my ISP website to see if they have that service. btw their called netvigator, someone cares to help please take a look for me :)
