Nice mix. Liked it a lot :D.

I used to absolutely love the Trance scene, around 1997-2000, after which I got into Progressive, till maybe early last year? I absolutely despise what Progressive has turned into now, there are no borders between, tech, minimal, and progressive, it's as if the artists themselves cannot differentiate between the genres anymore. THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE MAKING!! So progressed (pardon the pun) into a bit of Dubstep, and more electronica.

Seeing that I'm confined to only using one hand these days, if I'm not making stuff, I might as well share some stuff.

Anyways, enough of the negativity, here's some food to digest for your electronic consumption!

I don't know how to link youtubes, so bear with me here :p

From the old era:

1. No EDM thread is complete without sasha - xpander:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAJAIxaV7a8

2. Spooky - little bullet: from the same era :) - northern exposure was where it was at back in the day :p

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lg95dW-0biQ

3. kirsty hawkshaw - fine day (james holden mix): i love james holden and hate him. Love him because he was a genius, hate him because he's hugely responsible for what progressive has become now :(

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNjMMUKmoro

4. way out west - mindcircus: another oldie here! loved this track

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3_TIXE-UNg

5. robert miles - children: one of the all time best tracks i've ever heard :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCbO-3hjPok

Now let's move a little closer in the past, into the progressive trance, progressive house scene, borderline tech house:

1. sasha - cloud cuckoo: okay, so this was still from a while ago, but this was my favourite track from airdrawndagger

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVQwLiiylHU

2. digital witchcraft - fingerpaint: this is one of my favourite tracks, even now. digital witchcraft were amazing. everything they did... they had so much promise, but then ned sheppard decided to go electro with sultan, and the canadian crew, and it was all over :(

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAA8fa0G3k4

3. eric prydz - deeper still: another talented bastard, who decided to go to the dark side as pryda :\

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZr0hYP_tcM

4. pole folder and cp - apollo vibes: okay, so it's from the bygone era, but this was a pure pure progressive track, no two ways about it!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfTbvFal_I4

5. greyarea - one for the road (gabriel and dresden mix): amazing track

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGdJdpoya_o

6. peter martin - perfect wave: more progressive trance, than house, here, an oldie

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VniW_A37l5U

7. dusty kid - moto perpetuo: some newer stuff

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlRlqiXvyCw

8. moshic - am i stand on the right side: beautiful, melodic track from moshic's hiloola album

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwuL9PI1r50

9. bomb the bass - black river (gui boratto mix): I don't like gui boratto's track selections in his mixes, but man can this guy produce

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWRgqDcXmQI

10. ormatie - twisted turns: nice nice melodic and dark progressive

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IP4ezyh8opE

11. burial and four tet - moth: 2 dubstep djs decide that they want to produce some house. this is the result!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdTbgx5ZXSk

12. derek howell - it's all gravy baby (faskil mix)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5zGAVmAlhE

13. gui boratto - les enfants: like i said, crazy talented producer!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxfkVKg8EiA

14. rennie foster - devil's water: some borderline tech/prog

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1u-RlVyBvA

15. arthur deep - pine square: great new prog track, apologies for the stupidity before the track starts (in the video)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7O8Dc0eKnk

and so, we move into what I listen to of late, dubstep, and all electronica, as well as experimental:

1. burial - shell of light: so far, burial's been my favourite dubstep artist. great style. I'm new to dubstep so i don't really know what's new and what's old, but this track is great.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kS2wE7BZel0

2. burial - distant lights: a different type of track by the same artist. love the beat in this track.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBlKpshuIA8

3. ital tek - topaz:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNqH1Kykv2Q

4. sub - skadi: more chilled out, still good

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNedMGfqIrw

5. phaeleh - lounge: this is almost like dubstep deep house or something. fantastic track

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrxIrI_elS8

6. floating points - k&g beat: very melodic, very cool

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eq6V644nS00

7. port royal - balding generation (losing hair as we lose hope)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpxUHmd5fj0

so that's the upbeat stuff (lol, i know, i'm getting old), this is the downbeat stuff

8. jhk & sarah goldfarb - never stop:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8WFVewUvF8

9. younger brother - psychic gibbon: this is a strange one, it's not really electronica... it's... different. but good

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d34hJwMhVto

10. errors - a rumour in africa: from their new album 'come down with me', these guys are amazing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZooYqW09F88

leaving you guys with an upbeat note there :)

Hopefully i didn't waste your time with this stuff hehe. Enjoy!

I think it's not a wise idea to document on the Internet all I you've got :p

I couldn't to that.

Yahh... I'm looking forward to Friday

https://pic.armedcats.net/i/i-/i-d-k/2010/03/23/2010_03_26.jpg

I never thought Showtek will ever be that close to home... only about 160km from here. I have to go... although that club itself is a posh piece of shit..

Mh... on the other hand... my first "not in my home area" club experience when I finally got my drivers license was also in that club where Dumonde had a gig in early 2004... my favorite producers back then.

Anyway this will be my first Hardstyle club night with 'famous' Artists... looking forward to watching them work. On all the big events I've seen them before they were at least 50 meters away.

ahhh that sucks, when I mix, I always make a tracklist text file and dump it in an archive so I can skim over recent ones to see what I've overplayed, and such.

Ahh... I'm back from Holland. Trance Energy was fucking awesome once again. Just love the atmosphere and everything there. I post some videos I took there:

This was taken between 22:30 and 23:00 so really early in the party on one of the smaller floors. Still a really good atmosphere though

But now to the stuff that happened lated on the parties full extend

Above & Beyond playing a remake of one of the greatest classics imo... I was standing rather in the front to get some nice close up pictures:

Intro of Sander van Doorn and his first track, this year's anthem: :w00t:

High Contrast Stage... amazing with 500 disco balls and a couple of lasers!

Armin's live video broadcast from new york. The music was nice... but I think the whole thing was rather useless... neither Armin's there or not... why would you use an satellite feed if there are so many other great djs around.

It was extremely loud during that so the sound is a bit crappy but still listen-able :?

I'll post some more later.

Too bad it isn't in better quality :(. Sounds interesting but can hardly pick anything up.

Checking out the web site now.

Yeah, cycorder's performance on my iPhone 3G is pretty terrible. Even a professional mic would be blown out by the loudness of that show. Here's a torrent of the Timestretch EP that the song in the video is from, Track 1. Also, he's got a bunch of free music on his page. The 45 minute mixtapes are awesome.
