Here's a thought. If we move to a more hydrogen based economy will that mean more water vapour in the air, more cloud coverage and a dimming effect that could contribute to lowering global temperatures? If so then it could be a useful side effect of the switch.
Alternatively one thing nobody mentions, ever, in the media when talking about climate change is that water vapour itself is a major greenhouse gas so if we move away from fossil fuels to a hydrogen infrastructure would we simply be replacing one demon with another. Water vapour and clouds contribute to between 36% and 72% of the greenhouse effect apparently, compared to between 9% and 26% for CO2 depending on concentrations.
