I don't know what's funnier, the site or those GIFs. :lmao:

The factory shop manual for my Land Rover is almost as bad as they Haynes. For just about everything it tells you to disconnect the battery. I just replaced the starter and it said to disconnect the drive shaft to get the motor out. It had me all freaked out that it was going to be hard to do. Didn't even have to touch the driveshaft.

Oh yeah,

Ok, what other manuals are out there that's better than Haynes?

I thought with a Haynes manual it would have been (theoritcally) possible to strip down a car and assemble it again.

I remember working on my old Volvo in the drive. I miss those old simple cars with engine bays the size of Wyoming and no computers in sight.

x2

and it's so true

one of my friends uses a haynes book to work on his renault 19
one thing he did was replace the bearing in the rear brakes, the book said "tap them in gently" but that didn't work, we tried with a press, and they slid in....after we applied 5 TONNES!!

same to get out those pesky torsion bars, been trying for over a month, still not out :x

Haynes: If not, you can fabricate your own special tool like this...
Translation: Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

that's not correct though, we made several tools ourselves
