Now that we don't offer Top Gear downloads anymore and also now that we're a more popular site, I was thinking that perhaps we should expand the main site more into a fan site instead of just a download site.

I was thinking more TG/FG news (we barely have any now), the ability for people to submit news (let users sign up in WordPress and create drafts for possible approval), etc. I already have plans to add a subscription service (be notified of new posts via e-mail).

I also should expand the information on the site about the two shows and add all of the missing series 6 TG episodes and perhaps even pre-site episodes (season 1, 2, etc.).

Thoughts / suggestions?
 
Sounds great - it's probably been more of a fan site than a download site for a while now anyway.

Since the site is "legit" now, we should try to get some forum interviews of our favorite presenters (Clarkson, May, Hammond, Tiff, Vicky, etc.). 8)

on topic: sounds good. as for the news, why not use stuff from posts/threads in the fg/tg sections?
 
Great idea, I'm all for it. The TG section alone is a goldmine. Heck, we even had the James May interview from this UK pet magazine.
 
why not expand to other shows as well?

We can gather information of the presenters, but our main goal is cars, cars, and more cars...

I don't mind those. I can just hover over them. But if this begins focusing on presenters instead of on the shows, stupid girls like Hammond's Heaven users will just creep up...
 
meh, must share people's opinion that this is a site about cars. Sure we like the shows and presenters but what really ties them together here is our love for cars. Even so, I'd be fine with turning it into a shows-fansite, but presenters-fansite sounds too picky. For example, Jezza's really cool when talking about cars and stuff, and although I don't say I dislike other shows he does, I just don't really watch them. I believe many people here share my opinion (although I might be wrong) when I say that we should stick to the shows, rather than the presenters.

If we are to do the presenters we'd have to do all the other sorts of shows that they do too or that they may do in the future, and honestly, that would be going away from our subject of cars, for which this website was formed in the first place if I'm not wrong.
