News just breaking, not sure what has happened exactly.

One of the news channels here is saying there was an explosion in the carpark of madrid airport.. Lets just wait and see what other info comes up..

CNN has reported that there was a car bomb that went off near terminal 4, no immediate reports of injuries. Apparently there was a phone call warning of this.

Signs seem to point towards ETA being responsible, despite the ceasefire. Still no confirmation.

Anyway, it's past 4AM...gotta get some sleep.

A car bomb has exploded at an airport in the Spanish capital, Madrid.

The blast, in a car park at Barajas airport, is understood to have followed a telephone warning to authorities.

Basque separatist group ETA has reportedly claimed responsibility for the bombing.

ETA has broken ceasefire by blowing up a van with around 100Kg of explosives in the carpark at Barajas airport. There's one missing person, who was sleeping in his car at the moment of the explosion. The president is scheduled to speak this evening at 6pm to explain what measures he's going to take in the face of it.

Personally, I think it's sad, but it was bound to happen sooner or later. ETA never negotiates, they demand, and if you don't agree to their demands, they blow people up. It's the only type of negotiation they have understood in the past 30-something years, and they weren't going to change now.
