I've had a quick forum search, and I don't think we've discussed people's favorite movie cars. I guess they don't have to be your favorites, just cars in movies that you thought were cool. These should preferably be cars that exist in real life, at least before craaazy movie modifications. Please list model, year, stats, etc if you know them as well as who used it in the movie (actor/character) and how, and why you like it.

If you want to follow the format I have below, the pics are all 640 pixels wide (height depends on the aspect ratio) and you can copy paste the headers too for consistency.

Anyway, in the order I thought of them, here are some of my favorite movie cars:

Bad Boys - Porsche 911 Turbo S (964)
http://img388.imageshack.**/img388/4295/badboys9114td.jpg
Marque: Porsche
Model: 911 Turbo S (964)
Year: ~1992/93
Driven by: Will Smith as Mike Lowrey
Comments: OK so I lied when I said I didn't have any favorite movie cars. This is probably it. A "limited edition" according to Mike Lowry. A "shiny dick [with] two balls just dragging the f*ck along" according to Marcus Burnett, played by Martin Lawrence.

The Transporter - BMW 750iS (E38)
http://img398.imageshack.**/img398/8360/transporterbmw2km.jpg
Marque: BMW
Model: 735i (E38)
Year: ~1995-1998
Driven by: Jason Statham as Frank Martin
Comment: Very cool showcasing of this awesome BMW model, which also happens to be the one I drive! Apparently this was a 5-speed manual one-off produced by BMW for the movie, according to the director's commentary. I can definitely tell you that it's pre-1999 because it has the original headlights, rear lights and side trim. The wheels aren't stock though.

Ronin - Audi S8
http://img365.imageshack.**/img365/673/roninaudis86nr.jpg
Marque: Audi
Model: S8 (D2)
Year: ~1998
Driven by: Skipp Sudduth as Larry
Comment: I wanted to buy an Audi S8 after I saw this movie. It looks awesome and they can be had pretty cheaply now. Skipp Sudduth did all his own stunt driving in the movie.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off - Ferrari 250 GT California
http://img365.imageshack.**/img365/1172/ferrisferrari250gtcalifornia4c.jpg
Marque: Ferrari
Model: 250 GT California
Year: 1961
Driven by: Matthew Broderick as Ferris Bueller (plus some dodgy garage guy)
Comment: Oh why oh why did they have to "kill the car"?! Still, when it is still alive, this car steals scenes from Matthew Broderick and Alan Ruck. As Ferris says: "This car is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend it."

Gone in 60 Seconds - Ford Mustang Shelby GT500
http://img378.imageshack.**/img378/3200/gonein60shelby1tc.jpg
Marque: Ford
Model: Mustang Shelby GT500
Year: 1967
Driven by: Nicolas Cage as Randall 'Memphis' Raines
Comment: The last car to be stolen and definitely the sweetest. The close-ups of Nic Cage's feet as he's shifting gear are awesome and the sound this car makes is to die for.

The Rock - Ferrari F355 Spider
http://img357.imageshack.**/img357/7328/rockferrari4xi.jpg
Marque: Ferrari
Model: F355 Spider
Year: 1995
Driven by: Nicolas Cage as Dr. Stanley Goodspeed
Comment: Nic Cage uses this awesome Ferrari to track down Sean Connery in an incredible high speed pursuit on the streets of San Francisco. Too bad he had to "f*ck up [his] Ferrari, man" in the words of one onlooker.

Marked For Death - BMW 745i (E32)
http://img354.imageshack.**/img354/9452/markedbmw3xv.jpg
Marque: BMW
Model: 745i (E32, possibly M spec)
Year: 1980s
Driven by: Michael Ralph as Monkey
Comment: Steven Seagal chases down the Jamaican posse who are driving this awesome M spec BMW. This movie was the first to turn me on to 7 series BMWs. I don't know about the gold rims, but the car looks awesome in every scene of the chase. After it crashes into the department store, you can see the badges which read 745i //M but there doesn't seem to be anything particularly M-ish about this model.

New additions (15/09/05):

Breakdown - Ford F-150
http://img391.imageshack.**/img391/5527/breakdownf1508hd.jpg
Marque: Ford
Model: F-150
Year: Late 80s/early 90s
Driven by: M.C. Gainey as Earl
Comment:This is the truck that plagues Kurt Russell and his wife throughout the movie. It's an evil, dusty, muddy old thing with bullbars and CB antennas that just keeps coming after them.

Iron Eagle - Ford Mustang
http://img391.imageshack.**/img391/3379/ironeaglemustang0kp.jpg
Marque: Ford
Model: Mustang
Year: Late 60s/early 70s
Driven by: Jason Gedrick as Doug Masters
Comment:Even though this is probably the slowest vehicle in the movie, it nevertheless went on my wishlist when I saw this movie back in the 80s. What's not to like about a classic, red Mustang drop-top?

Spy Game - Porsche 912 Coupe
http://img371.imageshack.**/img371/2769/spygameporsche9122cd.jpg
Marque: Porsche
Model: 912 Coupe
Year: 1969
Driven by: Robert Redford as Nathan Muir
Comment: Robert Redford drives this classic Porsche to work at CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia and at the end of the movie, he uses it to make his (calm) getaway after he's managed to spring Brad Pitt from Chinese prison without CIA authorisation.

New additions (16/09/05):

The Rock - Hummer H1
http://img371.imageshack.**/img371/5944/rockh10zb.jpg
Marque: AM General
Model: Hummer H1
Year: 1995
Driven by: Sean Connery as John Mason
Comment: "You haf mein HUMVEE gestolen" is the immortal line after Sean Connery decides to shake the FBI in an incredible chase down San Francisco's streets. While the patrol cars, Nic Cage's Ferrari and a streetcar all crash and burn, the H1 makes it through virtually unscathed.

Hard Target - Jaguar XJS
http://img360.imageshack.**/img360/66/hardtargetjag6xi.jpg
Marque: Jaguar
Model: XJS
Year: ~1992
Driven by: Lance Henriksen as Emil Fouchon
Comment: The XJS brought a steely elegance to this movie about rich hunters tracking and killing homeless Vietnam vets. Whenever Fouchon turned up in his Jag, you just knew someone was going down.

Starsky & Hutch - Ford Torino
http://img378.imageshack.**/img378/27/starskycar9yb.jpg
Marque: Ford
Model: Torino
Year: 1975
Driven by: Ben Stiller as David Starsky
Comment: Without the car, this remake would've just been a movie of Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson goofing off. This car made the movie.

Bad Boys II - Ferrari 575 Maranello
http://img378.imageshack.**/img378/7816/badboys25753sh.jpg
Marque: Ferrari
Model: 575 Maranello
Year: 2002
Driven by: Will Smith as Mike Lowrey
Comment: In this sequel, Michael Bay made sure Will Smith still drove some choice cars, or what do you say about this grey metallic 575M in which Lowrey packs two H&K UMP .45s?!

Bad Boys II - Hummer H2
http://img355.imageshack.**/img355/249/badboys2h25sy.jpg
Marque: AM General
Model: Hummer H2
Year: 2002
Driven by: Will Smith as Mike Lowrey
Comment: If you're outrunning the Cuban military, a crazed drugdealer and plan on busting into Guatanomo Bay what better vehicle to use than a Hummer H2? OK, the Hummer H1, but this movie is all about style so Will Smith and Martin Lawrence use this canary yellow H2 instead. It does the job.

Enemy of the State - BMW 740iL (E38)
http://img355.imageshack.**/img355/6959/enemy740il9ca.jpg
Marque: BMW
Model: 740iL (E38)
Year: 1997
Driven by: Will Smith as Robert Clayton Dean
Comment: More Will Smith, but this time he is driving a more staid BMW 740iL of the beautiful E38 series. Unfortunately he only has it for the first half of the movie but it puts in a few good appearances, night and day, in this DC based thriller.

The Hidden - Ferrari 308 GTS
http://img379.imageshack.**/img379/7567/hidden308gts6bd.jpg
Marque: Ferrari
Model: 308 GTS
Year: ~1984
Driven by: Chris Mulkey as Jack DeVries (inhabited by the alien)
Comment: This great B-movie opens with a seemingly normal man in a jacket and tie outrunning the police on the streets of Seattle in this black 308 GTS. Without changing an expression, he crashes through construction sites, other cars and even a pensioner in a wheelchair! Why? Because he is really an alien body snatcher who enjoys fast women and fast cars. Cool.

The Hidden - Porsche 928
http://img375.imageshack.**/img375/9572/hidden9287th.jpg
Marque: Porsche
Model: 928
Year: ~1984
Driven by: Kyle MacLachlan as Lloyd Gallagher
Comment: Chasing the alien, is fellow alien-posing-as-FBI-agent Kyle MacLachlan. He drives a Porsche 928. What is it with aliens and great 80s sports cars?

The Hidden - Ferrari Mondial Cabriolet
http://img355.imageshack.**/img355/7504/hiddenmondial4xh.jpg
Marque: Ferrari
Model: Mondial Cabriolet
Year: 1983
Driven by: William Boyett as Jonathan Miller (inhabited by the alien)
Comment: Later in the movie, after the alien has snatched another body, he steals this Ferrari Mondial, shooting the dealer and the new owner in the process, before cruising the streets with it looking for hot chicks and rock n' roll! I told you this movie ruled.

There are lots more I'd like to post, but I gotta go to work so it'll have to wait until later. Please correct my stats if they're wrong and post screenshots of your own favorite movie cars.

The saint: with Roger More.
He drove a Volvo P1800.

nice thread!

The Transporter - BMW 735i (E38)

Marque: BMW
Model: 735i (E38)
Year: ~1995-1998
Driven by: Jason Statham as Frank Martin
Comment: Very cool showcasing of this awesome BMW model, which also happens to be the one I drive! Unclear whether this is a 735i or 740i but it's definitely not a 750i. It's pre-1999 because it has the original headlights, rear lights and side trim. The wheels aren't stock though.
I actually read somewhere that it was a 733i, but since BMW didn't make it in manual configuration that the production team had to stick a 5-speed in there. The perfect choice for a hitman or driver of hitmen. Shame it gets blown up, though.

Oh, and the Ferrari in Ferris Bueller's was a replica, so don't worry about it.

And how could you forget the Bullitt pair! Shame on you! :x

They make Eleanor look like a drag queen. :p

It shouldn't have been too hard to guess what I'd post here, the Nissan Skyline GT-R from 2 Fast 2 Furious. It's b-e-a-utiful.

But the other big favourite, is General Lee

Oh, yeah, how could I forget the General Lee? :woot:

And wasn't there a 300ZX in Kill Bill 1?

I am not sure that The Transporter BMW is a 735i (just read it somewhere online) but I'm fairly sure BMW never made a 733i of the E38 range. I agree it was a damn shame it got blown up. I actually switched off the movie at that point and went to calm down my 7er who was watching from the garage...

supercharged 1970 Dodge Challenger from Vanishing point
