Hi there,

i have just looked in all the News in S06 and there is nothing mentioned about the FXX. Must I look in S05 or there is still no comment about the car ?

Any thoughts ? :)

its a high powered version of the Enzo that isnt road legal, or race legal. there are very few of them being made, around 20 or 30, and Ferrari is allowing a very select few to have them, though they can only be driven on a track.

Yeah, I read about it in TG magazine, seems like the car isn't so much somthing to enjoy as it is a semi-public trial test. They are selling these cars to people with a crew and transport so that the owner can take the car to several Ferrari specific events. They want the owner to give feed back and data on the car back to Ferrari, so when they make the next "F" car it is customer tuned. Seems like a cool idea, will make every own feel like a little Micheal Schumacher

yea i do believe they're ether making something like 29 or 37 or something like that, specifically to get data for the future Ferrari's particularly the next supercar Ferrari like an F70 if there ever is to be one.

It's not probably that the next F70 will come with the same plataform as the Enzo... I'm not sure

woffle: I think the right question is: "Is a 16/4 Veyron a Rover?"

are there an F10, F20 and F30 as well?

No, predecessor of the F40 was the 288 GTO.
well its not really a predecessor, but it WAS the previous limited production Ferrari.

it's been said that FXX owners will essentially become ferrari test drivers because they'll be giving feedback and such. i think this is just a marketing gimmick. ferrari can't be serious about developing the next F series from advice given by some richie rich character who may know absolutely NOTHING about racing. and besides, they already have an entire army of talented test drivers!

I would agree with you... but what is the profit margin for Ferrari on these F cars? I would assume that it's not much, so why would they employ such gimmickry?

well its more the better when they arent making any cash, those are often the best cars.

Yea aside from the money which they need to survive, they're about pride and being synonymous with ultimate superiority(excet fer this past F1 season ;) ) i mean ....Ferrari.

That wasn't my point... point was that if they aren't making any money off these cars, why would they use misleading advertising tactics?
