What will Maserati do for engines and sporting components? What does this do for the rheostatic suspension components that have made their way throughout the fiat family of products?

Rheostatic?

Read the links.

They will offer 10% of Ferrari as shares, 90% will stay in the hands of Fiat-Chrysler. They will get money, that's it.

The magneto-rheological shocks were invented by GM/Delphi. Anyone can license it from the current holder of the patents, Beijing West Industries. Acura and Audi both bought licenses.

From above:
Under the plan FCA said it will list a 10 percent stake in Ferrari in the United States and possibly in Europe through a public offer, hoping to complete the spin-off next year.

The remaining 80 percent stake held by Fiat Chrysler will be distributed to FCA shareholders, including Fiat's founding Agnelli family which controls 30 percent of FCA.

The other 10 percent of Ferrari is owned by Piero Ferrari, vice chairman and son of the founder Enzo, who died in 1988.

I think the Agnelli 's can still call most of the shots, this a way to pump more cash into FCA.
