Is that really a 1979 Fender Strat? Did they have it in that finish back then? Or is it a reissue? Or a Highway 1?
I used to have a Standard Strat, but now I have a 50th Anniversary Strat.

Yes it is a refinish! Its not completly mine . Its my brothers (he uses his telecaster ), but i used it for about ~6 months now, and i used his fender hot rod too I want to buy a mexican strat but no money. But you wont belive me, that gt5+the peavey can sound EXACLY the same! I love the GT5, and the peavey has a great sound to !

Yeah. But its still too much money here . The price is almost the double (!!) here than in canada (my brother bought his telecaster there). So i will buy one in germany @ ebay.

Mexican Strats ARE Standard Strats. You probably mean the 'American' standard range. I was always told the difference in quality does not justify the difference in price. I played a Mexican standard, mexican classic, an American H1 and a Ibanez limited edition Joe Satriani and I liked the mexicans best. But of course it's all down to personal taste.
