Yep, close to 500km and I don't have a car. Getting back home via train would have been my only option.
 
and you have to get TO a train from the ring......I think Bonn would be the closest larger railway station ;)
 
DB schedule tells me Sundays there's an ICE leaving Cologne at 19:28 arriving 00:06 in Hamburg, duration 4h38min. 82 Euros listed price, I'm sure you get student discount or something else on it as a local.

Not a good enough excuse swek. :p

You do know that it's quite a few km from there to Cologne right?. And I don't get a discount on train tickets at all. Yes I would have liked to have been there but I won't apologise for not making it.

Schedule your next meeting on a Saturday and I'll be there a 100%.
 
I know it's an hour drive from cologne, I just picked one larger city from the neighbourhood. I'm just saying that there are options, and that it wasn't impossible. :)

Weather you make the trip or not is still of course up to you, its not cheap, its not close, and if you are busy the next day early morning then obviously you can't make it.
