Oh no, that's all the way across the country and the GTP is still in pieces getting worked over. It's just neat to see a LeMons TV commercial.

We're officially been accepted to the next CMP race being held in May. This is the same track where we last raced, and had the car become a tripod on us, and will mark our third of fourth trip there in total. This race will also be a little different because they actually hold a LeMons parade/block party in Camden followed by BS inspection on Friday night. This will be our first race of the season and probably our only one till the fall, so if you want to come join the party, make your plans now.

I'm in. Do we still have to an application thing if we want to be considered as a driver? And some kind of fee. Or pizza...or Bribe. Whatever works. :)

Does the origianl application still apply? Whwn is the money needed?

Suit and helmet ordered! Even if I end up just getting to have to stand by and just wave people on!

I don't know that we're looking for more drivers at the moment. We're changing our fundamental strategy this season to try to make a big push for position. Fewer driver changes, more time in the car, faster pit stops.

One thing that will substantially improve your odds when we do need to fill a space later is experience. Fortunately, this series is HUGE and there are always drivers looking for teams, teams looking for drivers, and most of all, owners looking to fill a seat for one race - an "arrive and drive" arrangement.

For you and other aspiring drivers, here's the official clearing-house for getting your butt in a car: http://forums.24hoursoflemons.com/viewforum.php?id=11

It's worth noting that if you hurry, Speedycop (the insane genius, mad scientist, legend, all-around-awesome dude and owner of the Lincoln Mark VIII that we tend to use as our performance benchmark) is looking for someone to drive an improved version of this: http://murileemartin.com/wordpress/?p=1086 in New Jersey on April 9th. Details are here: http://forums.24hoursoflemons.com/viewtopic.php?id=8973

There's a 2011 Uber-Tech-Post (thread?) coming once the car is back in one piece. PB and I will make sure it has lots of !!SCIENCE!! to make up for the insane wait. What was originally going to be a 1-week-in-December job turned out... Well, it's March now.

Man, if i were on that side of the planet, i could totally see myself taking up that offer. I especially like the "no pressure" attitude that they seem to be taking, which sounds like a great way to get some expereince

It's still in my master plan to get myself states-side for a couple of years, so i'm definitley bookmark that forum if/when the opportunity arrives. Thanks

Yeah the 2011 thread will be going up at some point, I just have no idea when. As my partner in crime said, we're mostly waiting for the car to get pieced back together so all the work done on the car to date can be condensed into the very first post.

Also, I read this on the official LeMons forums yesterday and I must say it genuinely brought a smile to my face.

I'm a shameless Top Gear fan and didn't care for the BBC-A edited versions of the show, so I was spending a lot of time on the finalgear website. You know, reading about the show...

Caught a post about the finalgear lemons team, organized a team of friends and co-workers, bought a car and the rest is history.

Tried to pin y'all down at our first race (CMP Fall 2010) - was going to say thanks. We were so overwhelmed by everything going on that it just didn't happen. With two races behind us, I'm not so sure that thanks are in order (this shit is HARD), but I'll definitely drink a beer or 12 with ya!

That is from the Capt of the Terminally Confused team who won Most Heroic Fix at CMP a few weeks ago and had an article written about them by Murilee. http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/20...cked-cylinder-liner-sawzall-meet-rocker-arms/. When I die I'll be able to say this thread was an inspiration to someone. :)

Well crud. But I can understand why.

I'll still be there cheering everyone on though. :)

I'm not sure if we're going to take donations this year or not, we haven't really discussed it yet, if we are then details will be in the new 2011 thread when it goes up (which should be VERY soon).
