If an animal doesnt need consent to be killed then we can assume the same for it to have sex with. This lowered punishment is a way of making it easier to get society to allow it. Soon there will be a push to abolish laws against beastiality. Soon to follow will definitely be polygamy and men loving boys. Pedophilia is still widely condemed but so was the notion of gay marriage.

It is the slippery slope, just give it time and all of the above will be legal and acceptable in society. Then what? It is all to get us closer to Anarchy. Lawless and already Godless people.

That is really a low blow. I don't advocate violence towards abortion clinics and I find it odd that you would aline me with that extreme wing of the right.

All Im doing is showing the slippery slope with society. It is the reason why the ACLU is going out of its way to remove God from America because it loosens tolerance to many things and losens morality.

I'm talking about court rulings that denounced the peace in death, the legal age to have sex etc. If not show me some special interest groups with strong support within the population out there.

You know that this is nonsense. Let's take pedophilia as an example. For the sake of the discusssion we take the moral implications out of the discussion. As of now, it's illegal because the child can't make decisions of its own and thus needs it parents to do just that for them. If we would legalize pedophilia we would first need to adjust the legal age to have sex. This brings other problems with it. I mean if you can make a conscious decision with one, four ten, eight whatever you must be able to make financial decisions as well. You should be able to take up a part time job, to drink (depends on the country) or to drive a car. I'm not exactly seeing that happening. :lol:

All I'm seeing here is you making implications you can't back up.

All right, I think I can see what justinsyder is saying.

Being open about your sexuality was taboo once. But many groups took many years to make it not so.

Being homosexual was taboo once. But many groups took many years to make it at least somewhat aceptable.

I think what justin is saying, is that these groups see this, what was once taboo is now accepted, and believe they, too, can someday become an accepted way of life. NAMBLA has been out there for a while, and I'm sure there's probably some quiet groups of "animal lovers" out there, waiting for the chance to start their push.

Granted, I agree that sex between two consenting adults is a world of difference from having sex with a child or animal, but it's sort of a follow the leader thing. If your brother was able to push your parents into buying him a car, would you not also try the same thing?
