Auto Motor und Sport has this picture of either a non-camouflaged Maserati Coupe-Cabriolet or at least a good photoshop effort. The Pininfarina-designed hardtop-convertible is based on the Alfa 166 platform. The Maserati CC will roll out in 2008 for around $96,000.

The CC will have all-wheel drive, powered by a 280 hp 3.5-liter V6, through a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The current Maserati line-up, with the exception of the MC12 supercar, is exclusively V8-powered, so it?s possible that the CC?s V6 is a bored-out version of the Alfa?s top-of-the-line 3.2-liter, 24 valve, 240 hp engine.

The Alfa 166 is marketed as an ?executive class sports saloon,? so expect the new Maserati to lean more towards boulevard cruising than heart-stopping performance.

Strange breed betweena Quattroporte and a Grandsport :bangin:

WTF?! It looks good, but it costs 96K, and its got a 280hp 3.5 V6 out of an Alfa? what the hell were they thinking... and those headlights are straight from the F430. would rather have the Gransport.

Hmm, I looked at it the first time and thought 'Oh Dear', but I've looked at it a couple of times more, and I like it. They say classics are cars that grow on you gradually...

Don't know about a V6 and AWD in a Maser though, it just doesn't seem right.

Thats what i thought too.

And if it would have been the old Maserati, they would have gotten more out of that v6, even if it would cost reliability.

Effing ugly with a way to small engine.

Are they serious? It looks like a Punto Grande.

I guess theres a bit there in the headlights, but, no.

Ahh who cares...all cars look a-like these days! Its inevitable. A German car can look Korean...doesnt make it Korean.

I think it looks pretty cool, I just hope they have a nice interior like the Quartraporte NOT the GranSpeed.
