I am trying to transfer a 7gb file onto my 16gb usb stick but when I try to transfer the huge files the disk gives me an error saying "the disk device is full please insert another device."

There is nothing on the usb disk, I reformatted but I can't seem to get it to work.

Any ideas?

hm..

FAT32 or NTFS?

try format it into FAT32 or NTFS and see if you have the same kind of problem.

Start -> Run -> "compmgmt.msc" -> Disk Management

Does anything look out of the ordinary? BONUS: Can you get a screenshot?
Dunno why you'd go with FAT16 for a 16GB USB drive. I'd format up to at least FAT32.

It is FAT32, I don't see anything weird but...here is a screen shot.

Crap...and thanks...is it possible to split an .iso?

You could try and extract all the individual files from the ISO file. Also, try something like WinRAR to split the file up. You don't need to compress the file, just store it in a .rar archive, but make sure the archive is split.

It is probably easier to just format the flash drive with NTFS.

^Assuming Windows will let you.

In mine, FAT32 is the only file system option for formatting.

(FYI, I'm running XP x64 edition, so I can't really vouch for other versions atm).

16GB meets the Window's minimum size for NTFS.

Edit: Or maybe not :p.

Ah I just found this article which to enable NTFS formatting for your flash drive:

A little note though: some devices (like say a PS3) may not recognize an NTFS partition. So use this only if the drive is going to be accessed from PC's only.
