Hahaha. That has got to be American :D

Nope, built in Australia. It has done a 7.55 second quarter mile and it is street legal.:blink:

That is one car where you have to pose the question. Is the engine bolted to the car or is the car bolted to the engine?

We actually have and old Ford Capri III at home... (Look at that nasty 70s interior... :p )

It's a 1979 3,0 S Ghia, with an Essex or Cologne V6, not sure which. Anyway, my father bought this car second hand back in 1980, and was using it as an everyday car for some years untill my big brother was born and they bought a second car, a Granada 2,8 estate. My dad however didn't have the heart to sell the Capri, so he kept it. In fact I am quite emotionally tied to the car, as i was almost born in it. Apparently my birh was a hasty one in which my parents had to get to the hospital really quickly with an average speed being in three figures, I have been told. I was born just 10 minutes after they arrived. Explains my love of speed and cars... (And to a certain extent, Fords)

I don't think it's nasty at all, it looks very good compared to the new all grey in grey car interiors. But I have to agree on the bodykit, it isn't the best looking, takes away some of the classic lines of the car.

And it should be a Cologne engine since the Essex was primarly for the British market. But with For you never know. (I had an 1983 Escort that was made in Britain, with LHD and all the German specs)

street legal? are there countries which allows these to run free? This is madness...

Oh yeah. I believe those countries are referred to as "the colonies."

I love the 'Tickford Aston Martin' Capri. Sooo eighties...

No surprise it's the country that gave the world Mad Max :p

The old Capri looks so much better than that awful one we got in the early 90's, sissy convertible thing...

believe it or not, but that is not the fastest street car in australia.
