Is it just me, or does it look remarkably like the fake 2007 Camaro posted before ?
 
It's not fake but the design has a slight resemblance. Maybe It's just the retro design that looks all the same.
 
^ I see it too. I think it's the really short and high rear end with the slightly flat front.

I'm a bit undecided on whether or not I like this car. I really like parts of it, but it still looks slightly unfinished to me.
 
I have proof. I took pictures of the GR-1 today at the Detroit Auto Show. That's exactly what it looks like.
 
And it's real. It was design in America to be presented in Pebble Beach Meeting (I saw it in Rides)

And it have a good old look like a Shelby Cobra Coupe
 
I think it looks vulgar. Too futuristic for my taste and the back wheels are too big.

With a bit smaller and less wide wheels together with some redesign of "holes" and some lines on the body work and some paint instead of chrome i think it could look nice.
 
An american opinionon this new car if I may,

I'll shock everyone on here and say that I like it.

Unsure about the colour though.

Given the choice of US supercars I think it looses out on looks to the GT, Viper and Z06.

It's got that good old Shelby feel to it, I'd take it over one of those ugly
new Shelby Cobra's anytime! I mean, look at that ass, whoa..
Those enormous curves folding over the giant rear wheels is kind of sexy
to, I love it. It looks a bit better than the GT40 IMO, but I'm sure all of you
disagree...

This is hardly news though, pics of it has been circling around for a looong time..

Not in that paintjob perhaps, yes, relfective paint is vulgar.
I'd have it in black (SR-71 paintjob, haha), and forcably extend the tip of those front lights and
then it would be perfectly fine... :)
 
i saw the other GR1 concept here at the L.A. Auto Show, and this one has actual paint :p

it was set side by side with the GT, and a 'fabulously' crappy new T-bird.

it looks great, but unrealistic. the huge wheels wouldnt see production, and the headlights just dont work (theres a part of the body that blocks them).

it's slick and pretty cool, but the GT/GT40 is just the big brother.
i find interesting to see the design work from shelby, but it seems all alike.
 
It was in the Top Gear magazine about 4 months ago but they had a dark blue one, it looked much better in that colour.

Has something silly like a 7.2litre version of a Mustang engine.
