So...

Who here is a student with a shitty car?

I for one am; i have a Fiat Panda of 1991 and it may be falling apart [note i went over a speedbump and one of the speakers was knocked out] it is still Punk-As-Fuck!!!

In fact its name is PAFFU - Pink As Fuck Fiat Uno!!

Anyone else got an equally or more shit car??

Well, the car I'm driving now is a '83 E21 BMW. I paid 70 euros for it. The interior is completely shot, the shocks are totally non functional, the blinkers don't work, the windshield is cracked. The speedo doesn't work, so I gotta estimate the speed by the tacho. Which is hard in the night time as the dash lights don't work. The old battery was dead, which caused a few angry kicks to the side of the car when it from time to time decided not to turn the engine. Obviously the car isn't inspected.

I have sold over 130 euros worth of crap that I pulled off the car, and it has a 1.8 fuel injected engine with a header and a 5-speed gearbox so IMO it wasn't a bad deal. But I can't wait until summer when I get my 5er or Mini back on the road ;)

Good effort...

I have leant mine to my sister but when i get it back i will give a detailed examination into how utterly shit and what a wreck it is...

I don't have a car anymore, I did have a 1988 VW Polo Fox, I paid 50 euros for it and it wasn't that bad. Engine was good, full service up to date, only we demolished the shocks, everytime I went over a speedbump the chassis scraped the street. But it was fun.

As a student i had a Ford Fiesta 1.1l 88.. 60hp...
Maaaan that car was a wreck! Ended in a police carcheck.

but then i only payed 20? for it so it wasn't that bad for the money.

My student friends' cars are all Ford Fiestas and Citreon Saxos from the early 90s and none of them are passing their MOTs! lol

I'm a student! And I can't afford a car. I'm insured on my mother's 1.1 saxo though, what a beast it is....

My student car was a 1969 landrover, it was great, a friend of my bought it and now sold it on, apparently the current owner is getting ready to go round the world in it!!!

Fiat panda is not a bad student car, cheap as chips, my mate had one, only need a few poeple to pick it up and move it.... always amusing

my mum won't insure me on her mercedes... prob a good thing. i tried getting her drunk in the summer and convincing her it was a good idea but in doing so i got too drunk and yeah it didnt work.

I have a 1986 Chevrolet Big 10 pick up. The engine is falling in pieces. The chassis is useless and doesn't go over 70 KMH in the highway

I think i'm the winner

On second thought: Maybe i'll speak to Jeremy or James to do another "Top Gear Restoration Rip Off" (including my truck :p)

Had a ?500 Saab 900i (spent another 500 to get it on the road). It wasn't in the best condition, but it HAD to be a Saab. Not much choice then, for that kind of money.

Wow, u guys are gonna get pissed at my

I don't drive yet, soo my friends cars

Yea, but they miss out on the whole life experience of owning a run down shitty car. It's amazing and I can't wait for my first car :D

Over here it's more common to buy a decent car, and have an old beater for the winter. I don't feel like spending the money on a beater, so I drive my baby in the snow

I think it may be that time to have a look though Auto Trader.

having a shitty car when you are a student is fun... you treat the car like shit. I had a 1989 Proton Saga when I was a student... well... that was like 10 years ago. It had a 1.3l Carburetor engine with 80hp I think... 13inch steel-rims, 3 speed auto-gearbox.

I think everyone needs to drive an absolute piece of garbage car at one time in their life to truly appreciate good cars.

I used to drive a 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlas that was completely falling apart. At one point the car had a smashed rear passenger quarter window (patched with a piece of plywood), a gaping hole in the dash where the stereo used to be, a major coolant and oil leak, completely non-functional power steering and a tonne of other various small issues. The car was a piece, but I absolutely loved it. It definitely makes me appreciate my 1999 Nissan Maxima EuroSport a lot more. :D

(If anyone wants a challenge, try driving a 3300lb. car with no power steering - strong-arming my Cutlas around corners was quite challenging. :p)
