Forza Motorsport 2

the line is generic to the track. nothing to it.

Then how come when I force the line off, every one crashes into me.

the line is just a guideline, everyone drives differently. even on the tg test track, lewis hamilton drove the same way as the stig, but every other f1 driver had their own line.

How you can get the GT2 to do a high :26 is out of my mind. It's understeering way too much for me to get it that fast. Several months since I last played FM2 though, so I blame that. :p

Understeering under throttle? Use less. Understeering when not on brake/throttle? You should be on the throttle, or the brakes, never neither, but if you must then go slower. Understeer just means either you're going too fast or you have too much throttle. There are lots of fixes. You can try a later apex, you can try braking less in the corner to get the car rotating, you can rub the brake while accelerating mid-corner... basically anything you can think of to get the front tires to bite.

As to the line, I find that sometimes it does change a little bit from car to car. For instance a heavier car will probably want to apex later than a light one, but it's still up to the setup. There's too many variables to list in that respect.

The time was from fastestlaps, and the S2000 was driven by Motortrend.
I really can't believe that. I can't believe that a 2-seater sports car is just as, well, slow as a 4-door budget mobile. But then, the RX-8 did a similar time as well? That's just so weird. Either the S2000 and the RX-8 are very slow, or the Mazda 3 is a very fast sedan.

And we can't test that theory, either, because the RX-8 in the game is the Mazdaspeed version with different specs.

I totally understand all of this, but why can I brake MUCH later and get MUCH less understeer with the RS?

Driving the GT2 just didnt give me any confidence. Before the first corner I had to brake extremely early and had to wait with the gas almost untill the road got straight again...

I know 911's especially dont like to change speed during steady turns, just a byproduct of the way the car is set up. The engine likes to put itself in the correct place one way or another.

That?s the way I drove the GT2 and i got a 1:26 , so how can you only get a 1:28 ?

BTW can anyone set a fast time in Laguna Seca with the Carrera GT ? I cant drive that thing fast :S , and i think it might be faster that the Enzo in propper hands

You havent had the thought that Laguna Seca is a very particular track and not all cars go fast around it? ;)

But the CGT is so slow compared to all the others around it :D , and i think is my fault , i cant control so much power
Update

BMW M3 (E36) - 1.37.262

Laguna Seca very much famour light and nimble cars over super-powerful and heavy cars.
A track that would divide the cars even more would be the Silverstone GP circuit. Long straights that helps the powerful cars and lots of understeer provoking corners.

Gonna do a few laps later tonight in some random cars.

So how can the LP640 be as fast as te CGT? (The LP640 is quite Heavy)

AWD. Anyway, lets use Silverstone GP instead! :p

1:27:903 - Viper SRT 10_______________________GT-R
1.28.106 - Lamborghini Gallardo Superlegera_______GT-R

So if AWD is that fast how can the SRT10 be faster than the Gallardo SL?( Both are around 500 hp , the Gallardo has 20 more):D?

Dunno. All of the AWD systems in FM2 feels front wheel drive biased to me anyway, so they all tend to understeer if you push hard.

EDIT: Time for some Silverstone GP laps.

I can understand what you are saying , specialy after driving the 911 turbo ,its almost FWD, but that?s the only car i know that feels front biased

A few Silverstone GP laps:

1.37.400 - Ferrari F50 GT 1.37.400 (just for fun, as a benchmark for how fast you really can lap the track :p)
1.48.973 - McLaren F1 --------------- ahpadt
1.49.289 - Maserati MC12 --------------- ahpadt
1:53:051 - Ferrari F430 Scuderia --------------- GT-R
1.53.439 - Porsche Carrera GT --------------- ahpadt

2.06.228 - BMW E92 M3 --------------- ahpadt
2.10.980 - Honda S2000 --------------- ahpadt

EDIT: Basically just got familiar with the car and then did the fast laps, so didnt do more than 8 laps in the most difficult/fastest cars.
