What public said. The beam is larger and higher on the curb side, which will blind people if used in opposite sided traffic. US lights don't have that IIRC? Anyway, I can't register it with tape, so I had to buy LHD lights to swap over.

That is true, the rear in particular. I wouldn't say that LS is a very good looking car, but the square-ish front works quite well. And the sheer size makes it quite imposing (at least on this side of the world).

Haha, no. The studless tyres (as it has to drive from UK) don't work very well on ice, especially having to hold 2 tons of mass. The rubber is also rather hard for a winter tyre, perhaps it's a different compound than what we have here in the north, or maybe it's just age. It was only really enjoyable when the track was roughened up by spiked-tyred rally cars and bikes, but the Sunday track was so polished, that it was rather frustrating.

Can you guys do a formal (i.e. article-length) comparison review with this and the Daimler? You've sprinkled comparisons throughout the two threads but it'd be great as an intro for people who haven't been following the awesome sagas of these two cars.

Yeah, winter tires from the continent (I almost wrote Continental tires :p) aren't made like ours up here. But wet ice is the worst. For everything else, my studless Nokians perform just as well as any other winter tire.

I used to have a 1:24 scale model of a LS400 in exactly the same colour combo :)
 
I can attest the right hand seat in the back is comfortable for many kilometers, even while straddling a toolbox.

I have a ?2500 luxury-ish barge-ish vehicle...
 
The car has some sort of aftermarket immobilizer, which looks ancient. It's a card-like fob that goes into a slot under the ignition lock.



I only have one key, so I'm not taking it out with me in the case I lose or break it, and lock myself out. Essentially it's useless and I want to get rid of it. Tried to find some information about this thing, but couldn't find anything looking like that online. Does anyone recognize it?
 
She looks great in the snow, and majestic going sideways! I'm sad to see her go but glad she's found a new home overseas.
