I know it was kinda long ago since the stig took it around the track. But i feel that he could have done a faster time, esp when u see the section where there was lots of turbo lag and jeremy went ' He's dropped off the boost! He has no power! ' . Well i think he could have shifted down or something to get that extra split second or something. Well thats my opinion, heh. What do you guys think?

I believe they run several laps and show the fastest one, so even though he dropped off the boost, that lap was quicker than the other ones. I doubt they could get a much better time.

I think he's right. And it was a fast lap with a great car.

I think people take the laptimes a bit too seriously. Different tires, different conditions and driver error can make a huge difference. I would base calling one car quicker than the other entirely on the laptime.

Did you mean to say "I wouldn't base....?" If so, then yes I agree with you

I have to agree with you there... and then there's some of times they've done in the wet in cars that deserve to be MUCH higher placed.

Namely:
911 Carrera S
Lambo Gallardo
911 GT3
Murcielago

I could keep crapping on, but you get the point im sure.

I have a strange feeling the Stig knows what he is doing.

I wouldn't take what eveything JC says during those commentaries as gospel either.

You can pretty clearly see it and hear it, nevermind jeremy's comments.

When an engine drops off the turbo, a lot of the intake noise is lost, some gear whine quiets down, etc etc.

It was pretty clear that he was off the boost.

it was still the fastest time he managed with the car, and it was only round the hammerhead so not a major thing really

^^Also, it is quite obvious the car has slowed down compared to what it was doing out of, say chicago... What a sweet car though.

you have to remember that at the end of the day, with cars you only get what you pay for. a car like the evo isn't going to work in all situations you can throw at it. like JC said, it has massive turbo lag and can quite easily fally off boost. i have driven a few very laggy cars (read boost comes at 5000rpm) and it is quite difficult to keep them on boost at times.

it is still a good time, and i doubt that there was much more that could have been gotten out of it. the stig would have done so many laps of that track by now that i think he could almost do it blindfolded and driving only being allowed to use reverse gear and still not make a mistake

not to mention the fact that it drinks gasoline like a 18-wheeler...

FOUR MILES TO THE GALLON@#%$@#$%

i like the peformance and all, but that is ridiculously low.

Almost any tuned car will do that kind of mileage on track...
