Nissan has launched European versions of its Note mini-MPV. The Note, a sister model to the Renault Modus, has already gone on sale in Japan; it is built on a stretched version of the Micra/Clio platform, and is a roomy five-seater with a sliding, folding rear bench. It'll be available from spring 2006 with the 1.5dCi diesel engine (68bhp or 86bhp) or 1.4-litre (88bhp) and 1.6-litre (110bhp) petrol units. Note models for Europe will be built at Nissan's factory in Sunderland.
The cute Micra C+C coupe-cabriolet, with metal folding roof was also formally introduced; this comes with the 1.4 and 1.6 petrol engines, and sales start in November. On the Nissan stand too is the warmed-up Micra 160SR, which features the 110bhp engine and can accelerate 0-60mph in 9.8seconds; it has received stiffened suspension and modified power steering for a sportier feel, and has electronic stability control as standard.
