Dulmen-based Wiesmann has been making BMW-based roadsters for a number of years, and its latest GT coupe comes with the 367bhp 4.8-litre BMW V8, albeit fixed into Wiesmann's own aluminium spaceframe chassis. Wiesmann promises acceleration 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 174mph, and the GT comes with either six-speed manual transmission or the BMW SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox). It has already competed at the 24-hour Nurburgring race last year, and Wiesmann has a good working relationship with BMW engineers in order to maintain the quality and reliability of its products.
