Filled up at $1.11/ltr for regular (91) unleaded at Shell.

:jawdrop: Bastard!

BTW - I love how you Canadians talk in 'cents per litre'. So much better than the gibberish the Americans and many Europeans talk in :p

The Euro's still talk in /L, so that's OK.

I would talk in cents per liter as well, if fuel ever got another 30 cents cheaper here.....

Is anyone here from Malaysia?

Given that our government started using a "floating fuel price mechanism", we buy RON97 at RM2.15 per litre. I think that's about 60 cents... after subsidy. Yes yes I know, subsidies are the tools of communists.

And it's still going down.

It went as low as 94 cents here but now it's back up at $1 even.

I don't know if the prices have finally settled or if it's just the long weekend over here. Gas is always expensive during the weekend, except Sunday nights when it's usually cheaper than normal.

So why is gas in Vancouver so much more expensive than in Ontario? Gas prices in Ottawa here have been steady at around $0.80/L for the past week.

I don't know, but it's always been about at least 10 cents more here.

I'm guessing more government taxes and other factors as well. There's the new carbon tax too, which is 2.5 cents a litre I think.

Just filled up 92 for $2.25/g, which is on the high side since it's the only BP station in 20miles. Regular is $1.95/g

So if I do my maths right (which I hate) is about .60?/l for 92 and 52?/l for 87

It would be hilarious if with Holden's 99c fuel offer it cost more to use it than just buying petrol :p

Regular 95 was 1,269 euro at the local, expensive-ish station today, and there have been reports of 1,149 in the capital region. <3

FYI for Americans

Am I right in saying that 1 US gallon of fuel = 3.784 liters?
So if regular was 1.20?/l that would equate to 4.54?/gallon

given 1? = 1.2724$ (according to Yahoo), our price would be 5.78$/gallon. And we're glad it's so low lately...

is my conversion right? because if it is, us Euros are being ripped off even more than I thought...

That's what happens when you elect socialist governments :)

Today it is 79 cents per litre, I can afford to drive 125km/h again on the highway!

Yes that would be correct on the gallon->liter conversion. Oh and you guys are definitely being ripped off, except this is by your government and not the fuel companies.

Excuse me? The BC Liberal government which has been in power since 2001 is not socialist... it's actually pretty much conservative (not affiliated with the federal Liberals).

Anyway, I heard on the radio CostCo in Abbotsford is selling at 85 cents a litre. That's 10-15 cents cheaper than average, but Abbotsford is like a million, billion kilometres away from downtown Vancouver.

That's about right.

Most of the price difference is tax, either direct (at the pump) or indirect (charged to the businesses yet passed along to you). So, yes, you're getting ripped off.

I tanked up for $1.79/gallon today. :D Or, for those who whine about Americans using American measures, about $0.47/L.
