What kind of Volvo do you have Jayjay? Just curious..

^ Birds of a feather. :D

Here we bitch and moan about a whopping $2.55 for regular. My dad was faced with the agonizing decision of saving $2 on a fillup of V-Power (coupon mailed to our house, I would've used it), and said "it's a whopping 15 cents more! Hell no!" Or something to that extent.

Thanks man, the grass always looks amazing in the spring, right now its a dark shade of brown becuase we are getting no rain.

As for 100K on the ODO, I live on Long Island, so you really don't do much driving in terms of distance as opposed to living in Florida or Kentucky or California, etc etc. Everything on Long Island is right next door, so not many miles.

The car is showing its age though, the tail-light assembly has been redone at least 5 times and the brake lights still don't work. Also the front passenger side headlight is held together by book tape and a lot of duct tape. The suspension is very noisy, the transmission is finky when its cold out, and the engine idles rough. I want to use seafoam on it, but my Dad doesn't think it will help the car at all. The clear coat is starting to peel in some areas and the paint on the trunk is really bad. Also the bumpers and outside trim is basically falling off due to a couple of minor accidents. Overall its a comfertable car, I really like the driving position, but its slow, and I can floor it on the highways and not go too fast for awhile.

The brake lights dont work? :|

You might want to fix them because thats dangerous.

Well when you brake, 4 red lights are supposed to light up in the back, only 3 of them do right now. It seems that the circuit board that the car uses it extremely sensitive and any water or excessive knocking breaks the whole thing.

Don't worry, I wouldn't drive the car around without any brakelights. If the whole system did fail, the mechanic is only 30 seconds from my house.

But at least we have water enough ;-)

Once I saw some Iraqi guy on television filling his car: he took the filling thing out of his car and spilled a lot on the ground. It was quite shocking to me because over here you don't just spill liquid which costs 1.5 euro per liter. But then I realised the guy would think exactly the same when he would see us washing the car with the garden hose... :)

That and the fact water doesn't go KABOOM like fuel does

It's called the Congestion Charge. Basically it costs you 5 pounds for a 24 hour pass when you want to drive into Central London. This way you have people parking out side the centre or catching public transport so they don't have to pay...thus greatly reducing the number of cars on Central London roads.

It has worked to a certain extent, they are generally less cars on the road, but it has cost so much to set up, and set a monitoring system that actually work, that they now want to extend the area that it covers from Central London down to Knightsbridge and Chelsea...which is where I live!

Basically this would mean that if I wanted to drive down the street to the shops it would cost me 5 pounds. This is ridiculous considering parking meters around my house are 4 pounds an hour and how much I already pay for a "residential parking permit" to give me the privilage to park outside my house that I already had a fortune in rates for each year. :x

petrol in Newcastle Australia, which is about 1.5 hours north of sydney is

1.25/L for 91RON
1.35/L for 98RON

that about

A$3.56/GAL for 91RON
A$3.85/GAL for 98RON

They are about 4c cheaper in Melbourne per litre but still ridiculously high and I use the good stuff (98RON) and do over 30000km a year so it ends up costing me about A$4500 a year just in fuel!

It was $A1.269/l for 91 RON at my local servo in Brunswick East this morning.

This makes it $A4.80 per US gallon.

That makes it $US3.61 per gallon...
