Ownership Verified: Giggles: altoid's 2004 Miata

There's a dealer 10kms from me, but they charge out the wazoo... There's one 40km away, which is cheaper and friendlier. I'll give them a call and see what their price is. I'd like the newer style if possible, but a fob that doesn't rattle and has stretched buttons will work just as good.

switchblade?

The car is officially up for sale.

For sale: 2004 Mazda MX-5 Miata LS in Los Angeles, CA

Asking $4000, willing to negotiate, especially if you?re interested in buying the car this weekend.

Send me a message if you are (or know someone who might be) interested.

I'm curious, why are you selling it?

Largely the fact that I'm simply too tall. Driving has become a pain in the ass now that I'm sufficiently used to the car to want to drive it spiritedly, and I have neither the money nor time to start modifying it to suit me.

Part of the reason why I ditched the MX-5 off the list very early when looking for what became my Eos. How tall are you?

'Bout 185cm. My knees are out at 45? angles and I can't really do anything quickly with the pedals. I brake with the side of my foot...

Do a foamectomy! Or get a new seat.

Also, your asking price seems very low, no?

Yeah, I thought you were getting Elise seats or something...

Do a foamectomy! Or get a new seat.

Just not an option right now, and I have other reasons that cannot be resolved.

He mentioned frame damage. Salvage title?

Clean title, but the value dips pretty hard, unfortunately.

Yeah, I thought you were getting Elise seats or something...

I was going to, and still would if I were keeping the car.

 'Bout the same as me, and 'bout the same experience.

It's unfortunate, but the path to sorting that out is more complicated and expensive than I want to deal with right now.

I may pursue this car again some day, but as a dedicated toy. Today is not that day. (Tomorrow doesn't look good either.)

*engine blows up*

:p
