Girls and Top Gear

Oh, I neglected to mention that my girlfriend drives manual. She has NEVER driven an automatic. Totally awesome.

A girl who is into cars is a massive plus. Because usually that means they can drive. And I am not being biased...but I have not seen one girl driver at my school who I would actually get into the car with if I had an option...that also goes for my mother and my sister (just happens my dad is an excellent driver).

But that is not to say only girls at my school suck...a guy asked yesterday in class, "Why is there 4 pedals in a manual truck?" (the 4th btw was a lever which happened to be the parking brake.

yep:nod: but stop there, because once the housework is done, the game is over & the buddies have gone home, you know what comes next...

yep, you find out I just pinched your car to burn off some pesky teenage boy racers LOL
NOOOOOOOOOOO!! Not my baby. You hurt my baby, I kill you.
;)

I have just been scandalised by a thread on the Fifth Gear (spit:p ) boards, about VBHs tits. Does that mean us girls can start one about Jeremy's packet?? Please??

 Ummm, I don't know about that.
But it would be damn interesting if he read it too. :roflmao:

This is the best thread of the forum... in my book at least. When it comes to cars, guys do like it when girls have a genuine interest in it, but some may get angry if you talk like you know more then them, or if you end up hanging out with more guy friends, because of the cars.

I met a girl once who had a tuned and tweaked Accord with go faster stripes on it. I immediately wanted to get into her pants. So yes, it's very very cool when girls are into cars. When she said she considered lowering it 60/40mm and asked me what I thought, I would've married her on the spot if she was willing.

I love discussing cars with girls. Even when they don't know anything about cars, it's good fun when they show an interest and ask good questions other than "does it come in pink?"

It works the other way round too, I had a date with a guy, when I asked what car he drove he answered "A blue one". Needless to say there wasn't a second date..

I love Top Gear and I love my car.
I have wrenched the car a good amount (suspension, maintenance, exhaust system, brakes, etc.) with some more expert help from some of my guy friends. I also track and autocross it too. I am one of the few girls at these events.

I know much more about cars than my other half does. I was brought up spending weekends hotwiring heaps, salvaging spares and grew accustomed to the smell of plastic padding body filler.

My other half insn't intimidated by it, but I know blokes who are. When I correct them I get looks from them like "Even though I think you are right I will not be made a fool of, therefore I will look puzzled, like you don't know what you are talking about" It used to pi** me off, but now I don't care.

And some people think I got into cars for the men, and the TG3. Well nope, as I said before- I had no friends as a kid and spent all my spare time in cars, driving cars (from about 7 yrs old), fixing cars and reading Haynes manuals.
But I do have a particular hankering for long haired piano playing motoring journalists!

I've gotten that too <_< but those kind of guys are not some I tend to hang around so meh

... and reading Haynes manuals.

Sorry, but that made me  it's not like I have flipped through some when I was bored...

It is definitely a plus but these don't exist wherever I am ;).

It is very rare to find a manual driving lady here anyways as well since the lack of manuals.

StarTipsy, ttyrants911, Jezzabelle, zondagirl, et al...there needs to be more females like you on this earth. I mean that in the most non-creepy way possible.

There's a girl at my high school who drives a riced out Celica. Clear tailights, stickers, hood scoop, "carbon fiber" wing, etc. Every time I see her around I always get the sneaking suspicion that her boyfriend thought it'd be cool for her to put that crap on, and that she wouldn't know cars from her presumably luminous left toenail. So it goes both ways.

Then there's my friend whose father drag races a '68 Barracuda and who races herself, and won an award for best reaction time...

definitely a turn on for me! my fantasy for me is a cute a little Asian girl come out of a Skyline GTR with some BIG wheels and some mods :p hehe well only in my dreams... But I do think a girl with at least a little knowledge about cars is always a plus!

With my girl friends it more like:

them: That?s a cute car.

me: Its nice, but (rambling car stuff)

them:  ... that?s a cute car.

me: :wall: :p

That's every car related convo between the boyfriend and I.

Although it's usually:

him: blah blah torque blah blah head gasket

me: COCKING ABOUT!

him: blah blah horsepower

me: Oh the Zonda is hot.

him: oh it does blah blah blah

me: HAMMOND! *sigh*

him: I give up

me: I like the blue of Jeremy's GT

I love Top Gear for the way they present the cars. I love the way they film, the music they use, the passion they pass on, the joking, the America bashing, the way they don't take it too seriously and yet I have learned more about cars from them than the 13 years of dating a guy with 6 rubbermaid totes of car magazines he's collected since 13, the cocking about as it were, and the chemistry of the presenters. The fact that Hammond is adorable is cake.

Now that the b/f has bought himself a Triumph to play with, I'll have time to watch the show without him around.

Indeed, any converation about anything, anywhere, including cars, is entirely interrupted if I think about Jezza, or he is mentioned. It goes like this...

friend "The weather blah blah"
me "Jezza is SO hot"
friend "Shopping blah blah"
me "I think I might actually love him"
friend "Chocolate blah blah"
me "I definately, definately fancy him"
friend "Cake blah blah"
me "Infact, I'd pay him"
friend "Johnny Depp blah blah"
me "Sigh. Jezza is SO hot..."
friend "Do you think about anything else?"
me "Well, cars sometimes, but usually, no. Just Jezza."

*Goes away to put on some Top Gear porn & get all dizzy knickers....

Well yes it would be fun to have a gf that would understand these things and wouldnt blurt out stupid things, but , this is a personal thing, I would much more like my gf (when I get over my indenty crisis) to be a bit more girly and crazy and impulsive to counter my boringness. I enjoy explaining things about cars to other people and cars is the one topic Im always superior(got to have something to boost my ego).

Although after saying that I probably wont be taken to the pink club.

it would be fine if they girls on top gear...
i remember an episode where they had a girl race a van around the nurbering

That wll be Sabine Shmitt. She's a star (*chokes on her own words as is VERY jealous because Jeremy kissed her)

If i wasn't drunk I'd be able to tell you what series & episode, but you may have to wait until the incoming hangover is outgoing LOL!
