Golf Mk8 - 2020

The mild-hybrid system, combined with a seven-speed auto gearbox, is available with both versions of the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol (making 128 and 148bhp respectively) and the 109bhp version of a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo. The entry-level 89bhp 1.0 TSI and models with a manual gearbox don’t get the mild-hybrid tech, but a new six-speed unit is said to contribute to a drop in emissions.

Oh, look, it's a Golf.

Er, not really.

I think the MK7 is still better however I might grow to like it, who knows.

The thing I don’t like is they seem to be following what the Camaro did, the main grill shrinks over time and bigger grille starts growing over time below the bumper.

I like how this looks. Wish we were getting the standard models but I know they've never sold well here so VWOA gotta do what they gotta do.

It’s doomed.

It has the rickhamilton curse of approval.

God that's dull.

It's a Golf. They can make it look like the modern equivalent of a Cord and people will still get board after seeing 1 trillion of them on the morning commute.

It's growing on me. Not that I'll get one.

It'll have to be set for quite a long time. There's a very specific reason I chose a lease with my current Golf.

Still has daft faults like erratic reading of speed signs!
