I tried searching and didn't find anything on car magazines. What are your favorites? Which ones do you hate? I'm subscribed to Road&Track and lately I haven't been very impressed with some of their content, so I'm looking for a new subscription. Any recommendations?

TG is cool of course, EVO is as well, C/D is alright, but the best american car mag is Motor Trend.

I like TG and EVO alot but they are so darn expensive. Do you know any websites that offer cheaper subscriptions for them? They are in the $150 range on Amazon :(

Buy them at Barnes and Noble or Borders. They are about $8 an issue (usually uk versions as well, instead of thinner international issues), making them $96 a year, which makes them substantially cheaper than the subscription shipped direct from the UK. It's expensive, but they are the only two car magazines I would consider purchasing.

I don't know if I should renew my TG subscription. I pay more, get less, don't get the extras that should come with it, they missed my last issue as I got 2 copies of September and then the next one I got was November....what happened to October? :?

I just don't if it is worth it. I like it, I read it sometimes (most I look at the pictures :p ) but it is starting to piss me off.

I was thinking of going over to Car, Evo or one of the Australian mags.

i've had motor trend for a good 10 years, i've tried c and d and road and track, allong with motorweek but i think motor trend covers all the bases pretty well.

My favorite, however, is Roundel, but if you have a magazine that actually has a couple issues a year with just old bmw's, you pretty much have me hook line and sinker.

Subscription to Wheels. Best investment Dad has ever made :p

Also like Car. Not a huge fan of Motor.

I've got a subscription to Road & Track (got it from one of those magazine deals where you can get like 8 years subscription for the price of two). Personally I like the magazine.

Top Gear is a gimmie.

And, if you hold out a bit, I will be making my own online magazine!

Check out my thread.

Motor Trend seems cool whenever I read it. Car and Driver seemed below par when I read a few of their issues. For example, when talking about the new Corvette, there were at least two sentences about the Corvette having a 'big but' in every paragraph. As though they couldn't stop obsessing about it, as though that 'big but' was so overwhelming that it effected the performance of the car. 0-60 in 'big but'.

Yeah I saw your thread YF19pilot, looks very interesting. Good luck with it

I didn't like TG magazine at all. 2 or 3 articles in whole magazine is worth reading.

I like CAR and EVO way more.

Tuningwerks Magazine is really good by my opinion, it has like 3 or 4 ads in the magazine. The rest is high res pictures and great article of the car. The link is in the bottom of my sig.

I have a free subscription to Motor Trend and I have a 2 year subscription to Road and Track.

After comparing the two, I have to say that Road and Track is much much better than MotorTrend. I feel the articles go more in depth with the cars, and the writing is much better.

MPH is actually not that bad. Its pretty funny and pretty cheap to buy and subscribe to. That and motor trend are the only American magazines i'll buy
