The biggest problem is we have to pay the Europe Rape price ( 511$ in Germany Currently) That's why bootlegs are far more common here ( Beastvision HD Wifi = 350$ or any other AEE copy)

I'm actually considering picking up a Hero3 Black at the discounted price. I can't imagine the Hero4 having any features I would particularly need.

IMO a discounted Hero3 Black is an excellent deal. The step up in image quality from 2 to 3 is very noticeable. To be honest, I don't know what Hero4 could offer on top of Hero3. Personally, I don't use any of the resolutions above 1080p, because even 1080p at 60fps gets difficult to edit and eats up space on memory card like there's no tomorrow. In FCP X, my early 2011 MBP with an SSD and 8GB RAM starts lagging even with the 1080p 60fps footage. So even if the Hero 4 offered 4K at 30fps, you'd need a 12 core Mac Pro or something to actually be able to edit the footage.

Edit: After a bit of googling, it seems quite likely they'll announce a new model in the next several weeks. The new camera will likely do 4K @ 30fps and 1080p @ 120fps.

4K @ 30fps is a big WANT here.

But i'm more interested in better night/dark-light performance. This way it can be a dashcam too.

4k@30fps and 1080p@120fps is expected for the Hero4, as per chip specs that have leaked. Much improved battery life is also expected. And launch should be in a couple of weeks.

I've bought a Sony HDR-AS15. So far I'm quite impressed with it.
Not had much chance to test it properly but this is a video from today https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151971407782754&l=955047189263142613
The video was taken with the camera in its waterproof case as I'm not getting the skeleton frame until tomorrow, hence the muffled sound. I'll probably end up using it with an external mike anyway.
The video was also done in 120 degree mode rather than 170 degree which seems to have a negative effect on quality from tests so far. The electronic Steadyshot is also on, which gives the slightly weird effect of the car seeming to move about relative to the camera.
Overall a GoPro Hero 3 Black is better but as I got this for about the same as a GoPro Hero 3 White costs I'm pretty happy with it.

Edit:

Taken not in waterproof case with 170 degree fov.

Taken using 720p 120fps mode

The GoPro Hero3+ has been announced. Better battery life, new lense, faster wifi, etc. No changes in framerate or resolution.

I'm rather disappointed. I was into the rumors and I really wanted 1080p at 120fps. High def slomo! I'll probably pick one up in the spring though. Also looking at the Contour camera.

Yeah, I won't be buying one. I'll stick with my 2 and wait for the 4.

To be honest, I can't really see a difference between the Hero3 and Hero3+ from that video. The Hero3+ seems to have slightly more natural colors, less warm and maybe a bit better dynamic range, but it's really hardly noticeable, at least for me anyway.

Sound was a whole lot improved. And the regular Hero3 is a HUGE leap ahead of the Hero2.
