Yea, I took my time with it.

How do you knock someone off a bike? Do you have to hit them repeatedly?

Online multiplayer is the most stupid, pointless and addicting game ever. Free mode goes like this: It's either with friendly fire on or off. When it's on, it's a bunch of people randomly killing eachother, mostly with rocket launchers because they don't want to give the opposition a chance to fire back. If friendly fire is off, you cannot hurt anyone else so it's everyone messing up eachother's cars and arguing with the twelve year-olds who just learned how to swear.

I don't like to be a **** so I don't normally shoot at someone unless they're shooting at me first. My favorite is to get some grenades and drive around. Eventually one of the twelve year olds shouts "HEY BUBS IMMA F***ING KILL YOU! YOU GONNA DIE BUBS! YOU GONNNA MOTHERF***ING DIE!" and start shooting at me from their car. So I hold a grenade until it starts beeping and drop it out the window. Their shouting stops as soon as their car explodes without warning and they get so angry, and resume shouting whilst swearing every other word. I explain to them that they just learned a valuable lesson on why not to follow me. Normally they spend the next half hour trying to kill me with a helicopter or a rocket launcher and, failing that miserably, leave the server.

Oh, and to answer a question up there, you have to hold down X or B to knock them off, or "whack off the biker" as Rockstar Games loves to put it. Hold the button, you'll see him wind back a little more. Let loose on an opponent and it'll knock 'em off instantly.

I'm playing the Ballad of Gay Tony DLC and I'm about to throw my fucking controller, the chopper missions are one of the most badly designed missions ever! Follow a sports car in a sloppy handling helicopter, yeah, that's going to work. Is this the same team that designed GTA3 and San Andreas?? So many missions are little annoyance like these.

My problem was I kept loosing sight of them, I ended up increasing the draw distance to like 80 (I was playing at 65), then fly higher as you said, it worked after a few more tries.

There is a button you can hold that locks the camera onto your target, makes it much easier.

I would have loved it if that chopper with the rocket launchers had target lock-on like in San Andreas. It's pretty hard to hit targets because you have to line them up and shoot. Also, same thing with the normal rocket launcher; that one from SA with target lock-on was so damn cool!

I have to use first person, or spam the hell out of them.

I had no trouble with the chopper mission following the car though. Got it first try. Most of my windows didn't survive though.

helo's are ****** annoying on multiplayer. I put 200+rds from the SAW into the little bird's canopy without any result. The pilot then sent a barrage of infinite rockets in my general direction and I died.

bump, is anyone else modding their GTA4? it's a bit tricky, but some of the car models look epic

I would if I could, a friend of mine gave me this game and said I could have it if I could run it. (his system was running on a 1GB card 4GB, 2.4ghz. but turns out Norton was slowing his system down to a crawl). I can run the game, at about 18-20 fps, it's not playable and I don't want to put even more strain on it by modding, once I tried setting everything to lowest setting but it seems no matter what I do the game will still stay at the same consistency.

Yeah, modding can bring down your fps by quite a bit.

Still awesome though.
