Not that this massively interests anyone, except for Top Gear Nuts who watched Clarkson trying to evade a Challenger 2 tank, or watch him driving an SLK and Boxster around an urban ops training area whilst getting shot at, but I'm currently mucking around the Wiltshire/Dorset area.

Thoughts so far:
Salisbury is a rather nice town, actually. Big cathedral spire, lots of churches, and all very neat and tidy.

Brit Army go all out. They had executives (civilian type) running around with rifles and getting APC rides around Salisbury Plain just for laughs. American army would never let that happen. (and local relations). Some excellent kit, I can see some definite advantages to the Brit tank, though a few negatives as well. The urban ops area is very nicely done. Didn't have a Porsche to spin around though.

Debating where to bring a friend (from Ireland) out and about. Considering Waymouth, Pool, Southampton might be an option (Is it too far from Bovington to go on the raz?)

Probably Portsmouth over the weekend, check out the ships, and more drinking. And of course, London next week... Staying in the Household Cav barracks, I think, whatever's near there...

Best thing? All government funded. Your tax dollars at work so I can have fun! (OK..I'm learning things too, but still)

Later...

Don't be so sure.

Depends who the execs are.

Though I doubt they'd let them ride around town with M-16s...

I live just down the road, just oustside Corsham near Box.

Whats wrong with The Chapel?

Southamptons got a few clubs, the biggest one is Icon (Divia). But, TBH Soton is a bit c**p for night life, but then so is Salisbury :p. Don't know about Waymouth or Poole (theres a E on the end) I've only been to them when I was a kid and wasn't allowed to go to clubs. Bournemouth, is a bit more lively than Southampton at night. Don't really know about Portsmouth, been there a few times for some very nice meals, etc. But not clubbing.

I take our Range Rover over the Plain sometimes, I always find the Army lads nice, they always wave, and pulled me out once when I got stuck!
