Thought it would be good to have a dedicated thread to share ways to get around some of the design limitation put in that game.

I'll start with these two, probably known to most put I'm sure some people won't have thought about them...

This first step needs only to be done once, and is needed for the two following tricks

- Create a second PS3 account and add it as a friend of your main account.

Paint chip multiplication

- Buy a car with the color you want.
You get the car in the color you want, + 1 paint chip that can be used on any car.

- Give the car to your secondary account (but keep the paint chip).

- Login-in to your secondary account and start GT5. Go receive your gift car, and select it in car delivery.
A new paint chip is generated.

- Give the car and the new paint chip back to the primary account.
You now have the car in the original color + 3 paint chips to use that color on other car. You can repeat this procedure for that color or other ones once a day

Double seasonal events payback
- Prepare a car for the seasonal event you want, and do the event on your primary account.

- Give the car to your secondary account.

- Do the seasonal event and collect the money.

- Give the car back to the primary account

Repeat with other seasonal events until you have enough money to buy whatever expensive car you want, and give those car to primary account.

There is a limit of giving one car a day to a friend that somehow limit what you can do with those tricks.

so, what are you trying to explain on the double season event? Two accounts? that kinda defeats the purpose

Well, the second account let you run the event a second time for pure profit, profit you can then use to buy cars like the Formula Gran Turismo without having to spend money from your primary account.

This shouldn't even be necessary. If you buy a car, you should just have the color added to your database. It doesn't even make sense, why would a chip of paint be lost/destroyed by mixing a can from it?

Totally agree. That's why I'm now using this trick to work around a problem that shouldn'd have existed in the first place.

As we all know the UCD updates 6 cars after every 'race'.
Two ways to speed it up, click any race and then exit when you have the start option. This gives you 6 cars.

However the proper way... go into licences, pick any one you like. When the start option comes up, skip forward 5 events. This gives you a new full UCD of cars.

Great trick about the licences, didn't know about that one.
