So, the title of this autumn's second GTA DLC has been announced as, rather suprisingly, "The Ballad of Gay Tony."

Less surprising is that you play as the baseball-jacket wearing Dominican Luis Lopez, who was the odds on favourite for the new main character.

What do you think? Is this a joke title or will Rockstar really add a much-needed touch of fabulous to the usually gritty Liberty City? If they do, I bet the Miata will be added as a new car...

Thoughts?

WTF:lol:

Why the hell won't these come out for PS3? :censored:

Because Microsoft signed an exclusivity contract with Rockstar for every extension of GTA IV :-(

Nah, Do Not Want. The game itself was a bit of a drag with driving npc's to bars and stuff, wasn't running smooth on anything except for PC, so a no go.

Thankfully they cut down on that crap in TLAD, making it an option rather than a requirement. If this is real, hopefully they'll keep the trend. I find it annoying when a game about shooting people, driving fast, and blowing shit up turns into a dating/life simulator. Just give me the gun, tell me where to point it, and let me decide if running it over with a Hummer is a better option.

Though I never really had any problems with it running poorly on my 360...

Seems like the next GTA DLC will be flamboyant and stylish :D

I've just finished TLAD, bring on the new DLC!

original press release:
Rockstar Games Announces Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony for Download on Xbox LIVE? and Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City Available on Disc for Xbox 360? this Fall

New York, NY - May 26, 2009 - Rockstar Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), is proud to announce the fall release of both the second episode of Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony - exclusively for download on Xbox LIVE? online entertainment network, and Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City, which will include both episode one The Lost and Damned, and episode two The Ballad of Gay Tony together on a single disc exclusively for Xbox 360? video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

?Liberty City is the most vibrant game world we?ve created yet. The episodic structure has allowed us to interweave stories, gameplay and atmosphere in a whole new way,? said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. ?The team at Rockstar North have yet again surpassed themselves, and made something that is both epic and very innovative. This episode?s focus on high-end night life contrasts with the biker gangs portrayed in The Lost and Damned, whilst giving us a lot of new gameplay possibilities.?

Grand Theft Auto IV?s second downloadable episode, The Ballad of Gay Tony injects Liberty City with an overdose of guns, glitz, and grime. As Luis Lopez, part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince (aka ?Gay Tony?), players will struggle with the competing loyalties of family and friends, and with the uncertainty about who is real and who is fake in a world in which everyone has a price.

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City delivers two games on one disc - the all-new episode The Ballad of Gay Tony and the first episode, The Lost and Damned - together on disc for the first time - for Xbox 360 for $39.99 and will not require a copy of the original Grand Theft Auto IV to play.

The Ballad of Gay Tony will release on Xbox LIVE this fall for $19.99 or 1600 MS points and requires players to have Grand Theft Auto IV for Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE membership to download.

Those helicopters!

Yes, but they're not even bringing it to PC, which is supposed to be the middle ground.

saw the trailer yesterday. interesting in that they've brought back the parachutes from San Andreas. That was always one of my fave features in that game. Being able to get up highest, jump out and then try and leave it to the last minute to pull that cord.

Agreed, parachutes were the most awesome in SA! Hope there is some sort of mission you jump off a building to escape. Or jump on one, waste everyone and then jump off.

Hmm, maybe I should finish the Lost and Damned while waiting for this. I'm bad finishing plots.

Typical GTA. FUCKING AWESOME.
