Guess That Car game - By Clues Only

Next:
1 - Its engine is based on that of another supercar. (2 clues in 1 :) )
2 - Its maximum speed is electronically limited to 68 km/h less than its manufacturer claims it can do.
3 - This version of the car improves the Cd of the "regular" car by 0,01.

Maserati MC12

The MC12 had already been tried, so nope.

One more clue:

2 - Its maximum speed is electronically limited to 68 km/h less than its manufacturer claims it can do.
3 - This version of the car improves the Cd of the "regular" car by 0,01.
4 - This version of the car adds one single letter to the car's name. That letter happens to be the initial of a major modification to the "regular" car's engine.

Koenigsegg CCR (one letter better than the CC)
Koenigsegg CCX (one letter better than the CC)
Koenigsegg CCXR (one letter better than the CCX)

Nope. Remember that the added letter is the initial of a major modification to the "regular" car's engine.

5 - It's British.

Great! I've got a car, here are the clues:

1. Made since 1982
2. Design has never changed much
3. Has several names, depending on where you live (I'll accept any one of the names)

It could be the Lada Riva, sold under that name in the UK, despite actually being a whole range of cars with different designations (VAZ 2101-2107, the "classic" Ladas, 2107 still being built today) in it's Russian origin.

Yup, it's the Lada Riva/Lada 2107/VAZ 2107/Lada Nova/Lada 1500/Lada Signet/Lada Laika (You can breath now)

It's got quite a lot of names, been made since 1982, and they never bothered changing the design.

Wow, that was a total wild guess. First time lucky :)

they never bothered changing the design
Well, they did change the lights on both front and rear. And the bumpers. And some interior trim. That's it, though, it's always been pretty much the same car.

Here goes:

1. It was the first mass-produced car to feature something now fairly common, and widely used (under the same name) across the range of it's manufacturer.
2. It once lost a race on Top Gear.
