Its sunset on the 31st on another beutifull summers day here in Sydney.

I thought I'd take this time to wish you all the best in the respective lives you live outside of this forum.

We are entertaining people at our house tonight and counting down til the magical harbour bridge fireworks at midnight. We live close to the city and have panoramic views of the entire city from our place.
Before the big fireworks go off at 12, there are the 9'o-clock fireworks that got cancelled last year out of respect for all those tsunami victims and the cost of them were donated by our state government. They are usually pretty good aswell. But 12'o-clock is what we all wait for here!

So what plans have you guys and gals got?

Haha, it's only 1 AM here.

Well there is a little under 14 hours till midnight, just enough for cleaning the appartment, doing the laundry, making dinner for tonight, buying dessert for tonight, taking all the mess out of the livingroom and chucking it in the bedroom and setting the table and decorating :?
WTF am I doing here  ohh yeah wishing everyone a very happy new year

11 hours to go here - in the evening I'll go to meet some of my mates and we'll have dinner and a little drink.
12 o'clock, we'll make some firework and very probably continue having plenty of little drinks
Only thing I have to manage then is to get up until 1.30pm, because then we'll have our traditional new years lunch at 2pm. (Rippchen mit Sauerkraut und Kartoffelbrei, that's Sauerkraut with mashed potatoes and loin rips accodring to my dictionary)

Prost Neujahr!

Under 1/2 an-hour to go here 8)

Every year the Sydney Harbour Bridge is decorated with something symbolic. This year its a heart and no-one knows what it means lol.

Its red and pulses using its lights. Its really cool nd I wanna go steal it

Last year they had this awesome disco ball. It meant nothing but it was really cool

Peace out FG,

And in about 6 hours I'll go working :)

So do you have to work at new year's eve? What do you do?

Cleaning dishes in a "feestzaal" 8)
Nothing fancy, but together with amusing people, good food (we eat everything like the people in the partyhall who paid 75 euro's for it ;-)). Most people consider me crazy for this, but they can keep their hangovers and empty wallets for theirselves ;-).
The day after I go working again in the afternoon :).

And then the studying starts again... Or should start... :)

^ I wish I had that kind of dedication...

Anyway, it's currently 3.15 p.m. here. I'm not gonna do much tonight. It'll be like every New Year's Eve since my mom died in 2000: We'll watch TV, my brother will bake "oliebollen" (fritters, classic New year's Eve and carnival food in Holland), at midnight we'll drink bubbly (not real champagne, way too expensive  ), my brother and dad will light some fireworks and we'll go to bed at about 2.30 a.m. And that'll be the start of my 26th new year (my B-day is in 2 weeks).

Have a good, happy and healthy 2006 everyone :)

I'll be in bed by 10:00 tonight. New Years is just another day for me.

Yeah, I know. Im as thrilling as eating oatmeal.

8 1/2 hours to go @ my place...

We will be having fondue with 18 other people at a friends house and then move through various locations in our small city... The last couple of years I was driven home around 7 in the morning. I hope I can top that...

Anyway, the bottle of Smirnof is ready to go into my Camelback (Small backpack you can drink from...)

Everybody enjoy the evening, I wish you the best. Take care and Party safe!

Buba

//edit: and sorry to hear that about your Mom, Micra...

^"Enjoy the evening" hahaha! Hurry up you other lazy ass countries. 31st December is like soo yesterday here in Sydney :p

Fireworks were almost as good as 1989 when the Navy organised it. The fireworks were incredible!! They blew-up in the shapes of hearts.

Do watch your local news channel and watch the footage.

I'm off too bed now. Tommorows just another day...

Happy New Year all!! Just got back from watching the fireworks with friends - so this is 2006 eh... smells just the same :p

i wish everybody a nice new years eve.
and of course a happy new year for the australians and asians. ;)
