Hi everyone.I've been gone for a while. Some of you know that I got my drivers license 3 weeks ago, well, now I lost it. Very uncool.

I was doing a 124,3 km/h average in a 80 sone. It in this huge underwater tunnel. It was at midnight last saturday, this civil cop car (Mercedes E270CDI) was behind me all along. I have to pay a 1200$ fine, and I cant be in traffic for 6-8months. I'll also have to do parts of my drivers license over again, so my fine will probably add up to about 1800-2000 USD.

It really sucks. There was no cars in the tunnel, the road is like a mile long, uphill. Its so unfair. The police are going to interragate me (Is that what its called?) next week. I was 0,7km/h from spending 18days in prison. So now you know what I've been up to.

If you are going to drive fast, make sure there are nobody in your rear view mirror. :(

:( :( Man I feel sorry for ya man...when you pmed me I was really shocked man! Only 3 weeks and already been fucked by those bastards!

You really have some bitchass rules there! Here it is +50km/h too fast = lose driverslicense and a fine of about 200euros, you'll get your license back probably withing the next 2 weeks unless you're a big criminal. That prison is really fucked up, like you are a raper or a burglar or something like that...I hate it when the cops are following people on deserted roads in the middle of the night..

Is it already definit? the fine and the 6-8months?????

 sad day man

Why sell your car? Parents? edit: oh the fine... :( But at least they didn't take your car...it wasn't even THAT hard, 40km/h too fast...I know more people who travel at 160kmh every day on average...life's unfair ey

I spent 2 weeks this year without license and it really sucked. And I was doing 44km/h over the limit, which was 40km/h! -> really stupid and could be dangerous. Is it common in Norway to get that kind of punishment for speeding? Or was it the situation (tunnel)?
I find it stupid to measure every speeding case with same set of rules. I mean, even 60km/h over the limit in highway is nothing compared to 20 in city. Of course they gonna catch more "criminals" at the highways, because it's easier. As the result they lower speed limits, which supposedly lowers accident rates, but in fact it increases speed differences.

But hey, at least it's winter time. Not the best season for driving anyway.

sorry to hear that Daniel... damn.... the rules are strict in Europe... on a 110kph highway... I travel at about 140 on average because personally I think 110kph on a 3 lane highway that is straight for about 5km is quite ridiculous... I mean most cars these days can safely do 140-150kph.

I got a ticket for 170kph and all I had to do is pay a $52 USD fine

Tough break man.
Man, they're tough up there.
Worst I got was a 78mph in a 55mph zone which is similar to your 75mph in a 50mph (roughly).
The ticket for that was about $75.

I guess it's the same over there then: in general cops give you tickets to rake in money, not because they're concerned about safety.

sometimes I think the reason why there are so many accidents on the road today is not because of speeders... its the people who do not concentrate while driving

like if daniel was speeding and the road was empty... if anything happens I don't think anyone (except him) would have got hurt

i hate to be the dick and all, but you'e only had your lic. for 3 weeks...you did kinda deserve the ticket, so it's not exactly the cops fault you were speeding, it's not like he forced you to do it...espeically almost 25mph over the limit...

live and learn...if you're gonna break the law, don't be bummed when you get caught and are punished...fair is fair.

man you're in europe.. you should've gunned it and flee!!!
my friend once tried to run away he did a good job actually but his gas finished!! hahahaha i couldn't stop laughing when he told me the story. So the lesson is.. you wanna speed, don't check your rear view mirror, check your gas :p

I got my first ticket within a month of getting my license... it was for overtaking on the left

I fell off my bike going at least 40km/h over the limit within a month and broke my collar bone. I was back riding in 10 days though

Growing pains are inevitable

I ALWAYS overtake left

I'm still pissed on how I got a ticket for that... I mean its not my fault I had to overtake on the left... the asshole on the fast lane didn't move away :(

Yeah pisses me off too, old grannies who overtake a truck at 81km/h while the truck is going 80km/h..

(I meant with prev. post that we drive on the "right" side of the road, I get a fine for overtaking on the right  )

77 MPH in a 50 MPH zone is a tad fast.

Although people do 60-70 here all the time on the freeway where the limit is 55.
