Has Top Gear done anything on or about the Mercedes ML?

Its got waay better ride/comfort, looks shit loads better than any other 4X4 on the market and has got all the modern Merc features like air-suspension...I bet you Clarkson wont care for that though. He will be a faggot and say it cant go offroad or something

I strongly disagree with you in hte looks department, and ride/comfort thing? You don't have a Drivers License, so I guess its not up to you to judge a car you never even driven...

Buba
90% of the cars people talk about in this forum, they have never driven. As YOU would know, this is a TopgearFifthgear forum so its a good chance that people who comment about cars, probly watched/read a review on them. In my case, I have read many reviews on the ML and thats what my comments are based on. :x
Besides, who sez that not having a drivers licence has kept me away from cars...(i'v been driving for like a year man  )

You are 15, aren't you? (at least you were 14 like a couple of months ago...)
Highly illegal ;-) nice

I have never seen a ML review so far (the new one, off course...), but that maybe because I don't care about it...
I guess, I wanted to tease you, because you are SO merc only the last couple of weeks... ;-)

I have read reviews on the ML and in most of them they say it's a real improvement to the old model, but then it had to be an improvement otherwise it would be completely useless :D :D
Most SUV's out there at the moment are quite old, so they are a bit out of date. The ML is considered to be the best allrounder out of the bunch of cars like the X5, the Touareg or the Range Rover Sport. The X5 will still beat it on the road and the Range Rover will beat the ML offroad, but the ML offeres the best compromise at the moment.
That's what the reviews say, but I dont like the ML, the old one was really badly build, with cheap plastics and stuff used. Cant really believe that it changed that much

Yeah, I mean, why would you want an SUV to go offroad? That's like expecting a sports car to go on a track.

If I go into a Porsche dealer, I'm leaving with a Boxster or 911. If I go into a BMW dealer, I'm leaving with an M3.

Death to the fake SUVs!

Too bad they don't want to sell Infinity in Europe. I guess they are afraid the competition is too hard here. People here buy mercs and bmws.

The whole separate-luxury-brand division has been an American thing, but from what I read (R&T?) they will be introducing the Luxury marks in Japan and Europe in the next several years.

Additionally, TG did review the Nissan Murano, which is a cousin to the FX.

I agree, best looking SUV is definitly the FX45
infiniti-fx45_05!.jpg

unlike Murano, the FX comes in two different engine choices, 4.5 V8 315hp and 3.5 V6 280hp, also unlike Murano's CVT transmission it goes a 5 speed.

not a fan of the new ML either. IRL they dont look that different from the old model :bangin:
FX45/35, Lexus RS330, and Acura MDX are all much more car like than the ML, like ML owners go offroading anyway

A bit too futureistic for me...

I still think the X5 is one of the best looking SUVs... and the new Range Rover.

 @ the 15 year old driving... that's hilarious. I don't see how a review or two could make you fully understand ride quality and handling. You need years of driving experience for that.

The only 15 year old that could be seen as anywhere nearly qualified to comment on issues such as ride and handling would be one that's stolen a lot of cars.

Maybe that's how our 15 year old 'expert' has gained such a vast wealth of driving knowledge at such a tender age?

I sat in the new ML, its not as great, the seating position is worse, and the center console is just weird. I do gotta say for a base model they do come well equipped.

Anyway, my name could have been on the title of our Ml55, decided not to due to insurance pricing. So fuck you. I ask again what do you own.
The car has its faults, but for its age, its better than any american suv, as well as better than any japanese one's as well. As for the X5, its smaller, less comfortable, and on top of that id say its not as luxurious. We had an option of buying the Ml55 or a X5 4.4 liter Sport. One thing is for sure, we are a lot better off having this merc, than an X5.

Oh so it actually is your car. Not.
And by asking, do you mean what car does our dads have?

man x5 is way more spacious than a ML will ever be

You would have been way better off with a Toyota Landcruiser

No it's not!! :yucky: :yucky: I still prefer te X5 though, but the ML has more space even the old one was bigger than the X5 :bangin: :bangin:

This is the best looking 4X4 SUV or whatever the hell you wanna call it:

Land Rovers are among the MOST UNRELIABLE CARS. TRUST ME I OWN ONE.

A toyota Land Cruiser is fairly nice, but not as nice as an ML.. also too bulky.

Look at the interior/ exterior AMG touches on a Ml55, a bit of chrome here and there, oversized wheel fenders, red calipers, AMG rims, etc.. it all just makes the difference, and sets this car apart from lets say a plain 4.4 X5 or a Range Rover.

For instance, here are pictures of the tachometer's on a Land Cruiser and then my Ml55

Land Cruiser - looks plain and cheap.

Ml55 - Chromed dials, just pleasant to look at.

Just one out of many comparisons.

Static, what does your father drive then?

You're being a tool dude, let it go.

Besides, it's ML55, not Ml.

yup, that's what makes a good car in my book - bits of chrome and red calipers :p . you're talking about cosmetic tweaks - and if that's what appeals to you then fine, but it ain't what makes a good vehicle, far far from it. And far from a good vehicle is what the OLD ML is (AMG version or not).

The NEW ML is by all accounts quite good though.

sh#t and glitter does not a good car maketh

(damn I've got to start proof reading my posts before submitting - edit edit edit)

Hahahahaha Oh that is great.

My mum's name is on MY insurance policy for MY car, but that doesn't mean its hers. Nor does it mean if you are on your DAD'S car as a driver mean that its yours.

As for what do I drive, come on mate I have already answered that in other threads so keep up.

96 Lancer Coupe GL. Base Model. 1.5L of carby fed raw power.
