Hello there.

I'm a Newbie here.

I Am a Top Gear Fan, atlhough they hate my Car...

Yup. That's Right, I own a 2003 Vauxhall Vectra GSi 3.2 V6 Manual.

It's a Good Car, no Problems so Far and I like it very much.

I Really don't know why Top Gear hates Vauxhall so much...

Anyway, I hope to enjoy the Forum.

Best Wishes. :)

I assume it wasn't your only option, as any V6's are expensive.

Can i ask which alternatives you had?

My had the previous Vectra, and it wasn't that bad ... expect it fell apart all the time ..

I Was thinking in Buying a Volkswagen Passat VR6.

But, the VW was too expensive and Volkswagens are Generally Expensive to Maintain and they are Unreliable.

Some people, say that I should have bought a Ford Mondeo ST220, but I had a Bada experience with a Ford Mondeo MK2 and Now I know why Ford stands for "FIX OR REPAIR DAILY"...

My father bough a 2002 Vauxhall Omega Estate and it is, his second Vauxhall, since he owned a 1999 Vauxhall Omega.

He had no serious problems with both cars.

This Vectra is not my first Vauxhall.

I Also had an 1985 Vauxhall Cavalier MK2 and it was good reliable car.

I Decided for the Vectra, because in My opinion, it handles Better than the Passat and it's more Refined than the Mondeo.

It's more spacious than the Passat and it also very well equiped.

As for reliability, I know Vauxhalls was never regarded for being Reliable Cars, but at least Vauxhall are not Unreliable as Yugos...

My Vectra is already with 26.000 Miles on the clock and is touching wood.

So far, I had 18 Months of Trouble Free Motoring.

All, I have to say is: Well Done Vauxhall.

I Like my Veccy. :D

Best Wishes and Happy Motoring. :)

good for you :)

I bet that V6 gives you the reason for getting up in the morning, huh? ;)

I Enjoy to blow those Stupid Boy-Racers in their Pathetic Novas, Corsas, Saxos, Fiestas and Puntos.

Not to mention, the Astras Turbos and Focuses ST, RS, Golf GTi

And even other reps in their Mercs, Lexuses and BMWs.

The 3.2 V6 produce a quite sporty noise and the car is Very Fast on the Motorway.

Overal a Very Nice Car to Drive.

Very Satisfied with My Vectra!

Best Wishes and Happy Motoring. :)

it looks tons better than our Chevy Malibu

also popular with reps and rental fleets here

Those fast vectras fly. It's crazy, my mate and I tried following oe guy who was gunning it in one a while back, around small twisty roads we just couldn't keep up. The extra power just blew us away on every small straight...

Trouble is Vectras can't actually turn corners! :p

Well...Mine Handles Very Well and I Can even outhandle BMW Mini Drivers or Ford Mondeo Drivers.

The Old Vectra at Standard Versions (LS, GLS) suffered of Severe Understeer due Spongy Suspension, Overlight Steering and Heavy Brakes.

I Drove the Standard New Vectra LS 1.8 16V and the only thing, I really didn't like it was the Very Soft Supension, otherwise the Steering was precise and the Brakes were Responsive.

I Suggest you, to try the New Vectra GSi.

I Tried and LOVED IT!

Best Wishes. :)

In comparison to yank cars, perhaps :p

I personally think that too many people are Jeremy Clarkson wannabes, and knock the Vectra down before giving it a chance, I speak from experience.

The Vectra is A FAMILY CAR. It does its job as FAMILY CAR perfectly. It's not a Super-Car, a rally car or a peroxide blonde-enticing HOT-ROD, but merely a cracking good family car. My kids fit onto the back seat comfortably, with legs still attached and the boot is big enough to comfortably secrete at least four ilegal immigrants without making the tailgate bulge.Well! The Safeway shopping, anyway!!!

And by-the-by. Who could entrust any positive credence upon the judgment of a motoring journalist who is willing to park an obsolete jet fighter in his front garden and then buys a car incapable of getting him to work without having to refill his fuel tank every 70 miles?

Its just a Vauxhall and like all Vauxhalls found itself the target of a throwback to the eighties who by some act of the devil found himself working for a TV show. I love my car, okay it has its drawnbacks, such as the silly Light Stalk Indicators, which I finally got used to them.

Otherwise, a Nice, Realible, Sensible Family Car with a Good Punch from that Lovely V6 and YES, IT DOES GOES AROUND CORNERS! And be prepared to surprise Yuppies in their "Ultimate Driving Machine" BMWs and even Subarus Imprezas...

Best Wishes :)
