Just bought and watched the "Hero" DVD with Jet Li.
What a fantastic movie!
The visuals, the story and the action are phenomenal!

Now I must say I'm a big fan of this style of movies (martial arts), but not primarily because of the martial arts.
I'm not sure if someone that doesn't normally like this genre will like it, but if you liked Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, you'll probably like this.

I saw Hero back when it was in theatres and absolutely loved it!

The best thing about it is that it is a Chinese movie made without any consideration for a North American audience. Even movies like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon were made with the intention of an American release. This movie was only intended for a Chinese audience, so it hasn't been 'Americanized' at all. :D At it's core, it is a traditional Chinese story - it definetely doesn't have the action that a lot of North American viewers expected, and to many it seemd too slow and complicated. If you're in the mood for watching something artistic, definetly give it a go.

And please - I'm saying this as a preventitive measure - do not get fooled by Quentin Tarantino's name being pasted all over the advertisments and credits. He had absolutely nothing to do with the creation of this film - he merely financed athe North American release. He did ensure that the North American release would have as little changes as possible, which was incredible, but the movie was filmed a long time ago with absolutely no involvement from Tarantino.

yeh i saw it 2 years ago and i loved it :p

I saw the chinese version a couple of years ago as well... an amzing movie... I have actually been to the place where they made the film and the scenery is beautiful (it is actually just as beautiful in real life)... no digital editing crap

I was gonna go see it at my local art-house cinema, but in the end I missed it. I'll catch eventually though if it really is as good as you guys say it is. Well, if it plays at an art-house, generally one can consider it worth buying right? :)

its not one of those stupid fighting movies man, go check it out it'll blow your mind as i recall :p
its a great film.. i think house of flying daggers will come out in the states in a couple of weeks, you all have to check that one out too, its also great

why you have to press enter several times before hitting post? makes the pages longer than they should be. and it would be easier to post the pic in your sig in stead of attaching it to each post you make
