<-*Waits somebody to step in as he's got absolutely no clue about the brand at the moment*

Already said I liked the picture in the post your desktop thread, but it's even more impressing you took it while it was in motion!

(Maybe you should include some "younger" cars to motivate some more people to share their opinions)

well, I'll continue to do it in order - it was a historic car show after all. If people want to join, they can. tbh, just your feedback alone keeps me smiling :)

It was AC Cars btw, the manufacturer - not sure about the model.

Here's another to see me through to the morning:

Looks like the MX-5 owner's club was in town :)

You may know these as Miatas or Roadsters, but whatever you know them as, they're still sexy little machines, originally inspired by the 60s Elan - I adore these cars. Anyone else share this opinion? :)

I was thinking to get one of them as my first car - until I saw the insurance classifications for them

AC cars was the brand - then I wasn't completely wrong thinking: must be a brand that's positioned below Jaguar according to the dog (?) as ornament.

yeah appears to be a greyhound - so I'm guessing the car must be the AC Greyhound - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_Greyhound - Jaguar section is coming up soon btw for all you cat fans :p

here's another car:

I'll just leave you guys to name the cars, as I'm too lazy. And by you guys guess I mean mautzel as no-one else seems all that interested in these old cars :p

Ah, who am I kidding, this is a Morgan Plus 8 I think - correct me if I'm wrong.

Mmh, now that's getting into the right direction - but I'm probably going to miss the Jags as I'm off for holidays for two weeks from tomorrow evening on :x

(Or: this thread might be dying soon :( )

thanks for ruining my day.

nevertheless: i wish you a nice holiday! :D

overheat,

are you sure that morgan is an old car? :D

as for the rollers on the first page, with the coachbuilding culture back then the first one is pretty difficult to tell. could be a phantom II, 25/30, wraith or even phantom III, but i'm no expert.

the 2nd one is a silver shadow II or silver wraith II, depending on the wheelbase. ;)

The MX-5 is one sexy little roadster. Every time I see one, I fall more in love with it. They say it's gay, that it's like a toy compared to an S2000, but to me, that's THE car.

Lucky you  Anyway, I don't think this thread dies as long as Overheat keeps posting photos. I'm sure there are more people out there that can identify the cars and that will enjoy the pics. I would have stepped in for the AC (if you look carefully, you can make out the letters "AC" on the radiator) but I don't read the forum as often as I should :p

Well, that's all until Monday anyway (maybe Sunday night if you're lucky :p) as I'm away from my hard drive for the weekend unfortunately. So, get ready for some Jaguar action at the beginning of next week :)

and mautzel - hope you enjoy your holiday - going somewhere nice? :D

Thanks.

Some friends and me rented a cottage in the South East of Sweden - we're taking our bicycles along for some day trips and perhaps I'll be going fishing again (Last time I did that I was 13, let's see what I'll remember from back then  )

It is indeed an e-type and it is indeed absolutely to die for :)

Here's another car:

Another Jag for you, I think it was some sort of XJ6 - though I'm not really sure - just loved the presence - beautiful.

Answer me this, if you could: Why is it that some the car licence plates are like American ones (rectangular, but just so) and some are long and rectangular? Does it indicate that the squareish ones are from, lets say, Wales?

I don't actually know the answer to that question. Generally, the squarer number plates are only seen on motorbikes. There are very few cars that have them on. I presume in this case, he could have an imported car from Japan, and as such the shape of the number plate holder would be wrong. As far as I'm aware, Japanese number plates are the squarer shape and therefore he probably got this number plate custom made to fit the hole on the back of the car.

That make any sense?

Anyway, here's another picture:

The owner of the above Jaguar was very passionate and proud of his well maintained Jaguar and invited me and my gf to sit in the car. My gf jumped at this opportunity and I took a picture of her enjoying the luxurious Jaguar interior. Not quite sure what she's pointing at, then neither is she by the look of it - heh.

Well, let's move away from Jags for a brief period. Here's a different car:

historicmotorshow2006015kq7.jpg

This is a Jensen Healey as far as I remember, and in good nick too. I love this car, it's really pretty, I tried to get an unusually high shot of it and I like how it's turned out - hope you lot do too.

Brilliant photos, mate!
It looks like you had a good time!

I have been back home (Portugal) for about a month now and I have started my search for a nice classic car.

Classic cars are the best!!!
