Historic Car Show 2006

Very nice and relaxing - weather was much better than at home as well as I've been told after my arrival :D

I was surprised about the huge amount of classic American cars driving around in Sweden - hope you don't mind hijacking your thread for some of pictures:

That should be a Ford Fairlane, yes.

I'm 26 and refer to the younger folks as people who are five or more years younger than me, because I think that there are some rather big differences in the way that younger people are interested in cars. (Generalising here, of course!) Five years back, it was nice when I saw a classic car, but couldn't do much else with it. Like many of the "younger members" around here (approx. 15-20 years of age) world of cars was mainly the world of modern fast- and supercars, whereas my interests have swifted since then and I got more and more into classic cars - brands, models, background stories and faults of them as well as the design pleased me more and more, whereas cars like the Carrera GT or the Koenigsegg are still nice in a way, but the magic around them has faded for me and now pops up when I see the likes of a Series 1 E-Type or Mk II Jag, MGB, Bugatti Royale, Duesenberg, 57' Chevy Bel Air Coupe and so on instead.

Again, this is spoken as general, but I never heared one of the older members on this forum complaining about classic cars in the guess that car thread (I like to take that one for reference as I'm most familiar with it), whereas quite an amount of people demanded for cars not older than 1990 or similar in the past because they "knew nothing" about cars from the time before they were born.

And Overheat, those are Rover SD 1's! (Must've been ten years or so now since I saw the last one on streets)

Well, I'm 22 and my love of classic cars is rising and rising - I think I'd much prefer to own a classic car than most of the modern ones - though some modern cars are great too of course.

RE: the Rovers - they aren't as common a sight as I'd like, I must admit, I think they'll appreciate in the next few years though - they're definitely a future classic.

Anyway, onto some more Rovers:

I believe that this is the classic P6.

Ooh, I really grew into these last year - never knew of their existence before. I spoke to the owner of one last year and he said that the entry level model only had 60hp and was dead slow, but there were versions with up to 110hp available. The P4 was the alternative drive for people who couldn't afford a Rolls / Bentley and for whom a Jag was a little bit too sporty back then, the owner of it said that it was a typical car for a bank director in the early 60s. (That's a P4 by the way - the indicator of the P5 was mounted at the side, and the P6 had a completely different body)

yeah... I knew that... was just testing ya

Aaaaaaaanyway - here's another Rover:

Is this a P6? :D

Not sure why these ended up so dark - I think I was trying to get the sky to look half decent and forgot about the photo - anyway, here's the last of the darkies:

The wonderful Ford Anglia - made even more famous of late thanks to the ever brilliant JK Rowling :)

i'm 22 1/2, and i must say i feel exactly like you
i used to go to tuner meetings drooling over riced out crxs and beemers
now i just laugh at them
i used to watch high octane, now i watch victory by design :D

That's what I intended to say - although I think that the R32 might be on its way of getting to the classical section as well now that it has been designed almost twenty years ago when I think it all over

I'd definately class the R32 as a classic - that's where the distinction between classic cars and vintage cars can be drawn :)

here's a 924 with an air intake :D

Is that the turbo? is that the turbo? Is this the turbo?
