Oh but Ford GT has a pedigree, and a big one at that... Beat the Ferrari at Le Mans 4 times in a row! That is brilliant! Probably the only good thing Ford did since Henry-days...

Nope, not at all... No Japanese cars have pedigree... No history, too short to be worthy, nothing much in racing... Honda... hmmm... not reliable, wins races, sometimes, not consistent like some of the bigger names... etc etc etc
In the rest of the world. In Japan, schoolchildren know that Nissan have dominated JGTC for most of the years that the Championship have been around. Mazda won Le Mans with the rotary-powered 787B, and remain the only Japanese company to have done so. Subaru has won 3 driver's titles in a row in 1995, 1996, and 1997. Honda won 4 CART championships: 1996, 1998, 1999, 2001. Mitsubishi won the Paris-Dakar Rally 10 times. And on it goes...(Correct me if I'm wrong.)

It may not approach the impressive victories chalked up by BMW, Porsche, or your beloved annoyingly-dominating Scuderia Ferrari and their Michael Schumacher (I think he's a robot), but don't discredit their victories. Unlike the domestics with NASCAR, the Japanese actually use race-developed technologies in their road cars. (VTEC is a prime example...)

honda race car dont use vtec, they use that othewr cam or whatever only. people have put together vtec eliminator thingies and they rev to well over 10,000 rpm but idle at 3000 rpm

Krypton, I usually respect your opinion, but saying Japanese cars have no pedigree is sacriligeous. Nissan and Toyota have both run strong LeMans campaigns Mazda has won LeMans, Honda has been very successful in F1, the JGTC is mostly Japanese cars. The Skyline GT-R has possibly one of the richer pedigrees of ALL, having been around since 1970. No History? Too short to be worthy? Nothing much in racing? Have you lived under a rock all your life?

i believe there was sarcasm involved. :)

^^ Bloody hope so!!!

He took the GT back, well done Jeremy!

Personally I think the GT is better looking than the F430.. Maybe the F430 is a better car (and possibly in every way..).. but it's a Ferrari.. everybody want's one and it's the "car to have".. how boring is that. Nobody want's a Ford with a supercharger.. :D That makes it cool.

A SLK 55... so he's a coward, like James said after Jeremy had previewed the TVR Sagaris. And he bought it mainly to irritate James. I think that SLK is a good choice for a fun everyday car, but I'd still have the Boxster.

because he finally realized that he shouldn't throw away his childhood dream because of some electronic glitch done by an aftermarket manufacturer

VTEC was developed through Honda's F1 campaign in the late 80's, I believe. So it counts as an example of race technology carried onto road cars.

lol, he would probably return before he even drives it :p

i'm glad he took the GT back. In the end he would of regretted it if he didn't. Sure the F430 is a better put together car but is it a better car in the end? Personally I think it is the most horrid Ferrari ever. I can't stand the thing. In any case goodluck to him with the GT, I am one jealous so and so.

:welcome: ! Although i must counter that the F430 is a fanTASTIC Ferrari. of I felt that way about the 360 so i can kind of see where your coming from...i guess
