Heres another thread relating to the looks of a car. I am deliberatly picking cars that I know not everyone likes the looks of. The new Civic is another one of those love/hate cars.

I love it and think its funky and I'd seriously consider buying one in a couple years time maybe. I wish all 'urban run-abouts' looked like the Civic. I particulary like the rear of it with those cool exhaust pipes! I also like the one big assembly for the front and rear lights...very interesting!!

However someone at my school owns the sedan version of it and that is fugly...but lets focus on the hatch/5-door which most would buy.

BTW: Check out the Type-R thread aswell

How bout we have one thread with one poll that gets changed every week. All of these Do you like its looks? threads are getting annoying.

How are they annoying? They invoke discussion (on a forum) and get people talking/discussing. You want to know what I find annoying? Political discussion and some of those OT threads. You don't see me running in there and changing those discussions just to vent my selfish thoughts. Based on the other threads made, there will be enough people interested enough to post what they think of the looks of this car.

I really appreciate you kick-starting this thread Matt. Thanks

The next post better be on-topic thanks. Matt, you can reply via PM.

its just a yes/no question. instead, how about a scale of 1-10?

A bit over done on some areas but generally good. I like it.

I can add something in between "yes" and "no" :)

I'm too lazy to do 1-10 :p

I don't like it, I feel it is out of proportion and it looks just plain stupid at the back. The lights remind me of something ugly. I just don't like it. Sorry.

And I like these threads. 8)

I don't mind it... I like the idea, that they've tried to do something different, and I like some of the details, like the exhaust, and the light assemblies... but I don't like the overall shape of it much.

It looks stupid, especially with the euro front end. Looks like a freaking Cylon or something out of 1980s scifi.

the best looking civics were EK and EG chassis.

it looks quirky, and quirky is better than boring.

Its one of those cars, you either like it or you don't, and I don't. The styling looks too futuristic, like its from a 50's movie about what life will be like in the year 2000. Its a love hate car, and I hate it, I hate it so much it gives me energy!

I'm still undecided - I think it's great Honda have done something so different, but I'm not sure if I like it or not

I really like it. Good on you, Honda, for going out on a limb with such a mentalist looking car. Top notch.

I like the North American Civic better.
Whats the difference apart from those U.S. spec indicators? Thats just the coupe which you have pictured there...looks pretty sweet aswell however.

The only real difference between Honda's around the world is the Jap made cars get proper V-Tech or something...Andy knows a bit about this.

BTW: Me n' matt sorted everything out ;)

One thing is for sure, it will age FAST. Just like most 80s cars.

Absolutely for sure. I can already hear "that car is sooo 2005!".

Big facelift. New car, old name. Nothing bad about that.

Good:
- The Front, the lights. Nice.

Bad:
- The big mouth under the lights. I hate angry face tailgater cars. This is one.
- Spoiler on little cars. Nonsense. Especially when the only function of it is to block your rear wiew.
- Wedge-design... The front, yes. But not the whole car. The lower window frames should be even. With that the back would not look like the butt of Miss Chubby.

Greetings, lip

Yes, that is the North American Civic, yes, it is a coup? as opposed to a hatchback but the Europeans are not getting this coup?, they're getting the hatchback and the sedan.

Then there's us, Australia. We're only getting the four door sedan version. No coup? or hatchback... hopefully this changes soon.

Check out Honda UK website, you won't see the coup? anywhere. Check out Honda USA websites, you won't see mention of the hatchback anywhere... nor on the Australian website is their mention of the hatchback & coup?.

That sucks  I just assumed everyone gets the coupe. I want the coupe!!

The coupe gets the 140HP engine and if you opt for the Si spec model, you get the 197HP engine that we'er familiar with. Just thought you might wanna know..
