All the Fords, Toyotas and most of the Holdens from 2008 are work cars. Basically the depot I work for had a falling out with Holden and somehow decided it would be cheaper to rent cars from Hertz :p. Since then the depot's strategy has been to purchase hail damaged written off cars for a couple of thousand, give them to us to flog them into the ground then get rid of them.

'04 Isuzu Axiom (First car I did "other stuff" in, towed home my Eagle Talon and Triumph Spitfire)

Interesting, I see a lot of people here are like me. I thought about it a while back, and figured, "a lot of people ask me to drive their cars for one reason or another, they must think I'm a good driver."

I wonder how many different cars average people drive.
Far, far less unless they rent on a frequent basis. The only time they drive more cars is when theirs is so unreliable that they end up renting a bunch of others or have to keep buying more cars. I even suspect many don't even bother test driving competing cars with the one they're thinking of buying. Your perspective on cars I think changes as you drive several different models, I thought I'd be hating the Hyundais and the Kias, but no, its actually the Chryslers, bare bones VWs and really boring stuff like Corollas and Civics that I ended up hating to drive.

I think it's nice to have perspective. I totally agree an VWs and Chryslers. I love Jeeps though, at least the older ones I've driven. The Liberty is very mellow and undramatic. I'd imagine the new Compass, GC, and Patriot are similar. The Corolla is certainly boring, but it's also efficient, reliable, quiet, and spacious, it's a great car to have. It's engine has a lot of low-end torque for it's size (1.8), it's much more responsive than the Mazda 3 with a 2.4L, for example. I was surprised by how high you have to rev that to get anything out of it. I drove one across the state and it was hard it was to get it up to 100MPH when the Corolla does it so easily.
