We do absinth shots here when we go out and we have not once...

The real stuff?!

Its even illegal in holland i believe.

Its illegal here to, but you know ;)

I don't know about the Netherlands, but the our government recently lifted the ban on Absinthe. They enforce a stricter regulation on the Thujon proportion. So the Dutch won't cut their ears off anymore. ;)

I think those those are flaming shots. A cocktail is mixed, a shot mostly consits of one sort of alcohol. All info imo.
Oh yeah, you're right.

there are some cocktails that you get delivered in the mixer itself (e.g. Kamikaze), and you then drink them in small shots ;)

god knows what the heck was in that small glas, but it sure was flamable :D

Okay, never seen any of those. I can't pay for Cocktails anymore though,
since I have to pay for my flat. It's all homemixed stuff or Beer for me.

Here in maastrich i cant get a cocktail even if i wanted to :x
when you say cocktail its like you are talking chinese or sth, and when you ask for a hard drink they think you are an alcoholic

only beer over here, in 0.2l glasses, 1/2of which is water :bangin:

oh, and you cant get hard drinks in regular shops, only beer & wine is available, u need to go to a special "drink" store, which there are only 2-3of in the city :(

netherlands seems to be not the best place to exercise my east-european drinking habits/customs

Ever thought about a visit to Germany ?
Seems like you would like it here, since everything you've described seems to be the opposite here.

im only 15-20kms away from aachen
too bad i dont have a private limo to drive me around and get me home safely

Cocktails are expensive here though. You usually pay between 11 and 16? depending on the type of bar. Sometimes you get them for 5? during Happy Hour. That's a lot of money. The last time I've been to a Cocktail bar, I've spend 60? and that was way over my budget.

But I bet you would like the Alcohol sections in our supermarkets. ;)
