The message comes bottom right hand corner, yellow three point "badge" thingy ...

What do I do?

How much free space do you have on the hard drive? Virtual memory is the swap file (is it still called that?) on the hard drive, maybe there isn't much free space on the hard drive so there's no room for virtual memory??
 
Close some running programs. If that doesn't help: Upgrade your RAM.

or as a BAND AID fix

Go to Control Panel, System. Click the advanced tab, then click Settings under Performance. Click the Advanced Tab. Down the bottom there is a section that says Virtual Memory. Click change. Increase the value. This is how much hard disk space that the system can use as a sort of 'extra' RAM bank.
 
hit ctrl alt del and then see which program uses most of your memory. then dont use it until u get some more RAM
 
Yeah, all it's gonna do is increase your Page file...just add s'more RAM :)
 
^^^ yeah, it's actually quite common to get this message once on a PC, then after you bump up the virtual memory (as flyingfridge described) you'll probably never see it again.
 
you've got a lot of programs running, simply close the unimportant ones.
