Well, actually that would not be a problem at all...they don't stop mechanical things or electronic devices.

They only stop something when it has the four elements a bomb should have. One of them is organic material, like semtex (or soap :))...the second one is the detonator and so on...

When there are only 3 of the 4 elements, they cannot stop it from going on the aircraft :), because it just is not a bomb and therefore cannot explode. Even if it looks ultra complicated and they don't know what it is.

(this i was told by a security instructor who also does X-ray screenings on the airport)

yeah, my friend couldnt' turn on his iPod and they took it and destroyed it.

I guess the security person that relieved him of his toy was smiling very maliciously while ruining his day! :(

Man, I'd love to have one of those things to drive around town while I'm at school. Granted I can tote too much around with me, but it'd still be fun.

they'll let you go, but they'll sure have a look at it

i once took a backpack as hand luggage with in it a discman, 2 boxes, a spindle of cds and some adapters (with lots of wires). man did they investigate thoroughly

yea we are anal about airport security in the U.S. :?

after my personal experience, i don't trust those security checks, bunch of BS:

april after sept 11th, when security was at it harshest, i had to go through 5 metal detectors, 3 pat-downs with handheld metal detectors, and 2 shoe checks to get onto the airport (and also by the army guys with M16s) and when i got to the destination, i found out i accidentally had my swiss army knife with me, with a 4 inch sharp blade, and the other array of potentially dangerous toys. (all metal too)

seriously do you realize how retarded it is when they take away nail clippers and let me go through 10 security checks with a knife in my right pocket

Really? Thats crazy you got through with that. My grandma, white hair and pretty old, was a threat becuase she has a manicure set in her luggage. They had to delay the plane so they could confiscate the set.

We just have to take ours out of our laptop bags and have them x-rayed, with the battery removed... and as for MP3 players, i've just kept mine in my backpack...

I went with my family on a trip to somewhere I forgot. My mom was wearing slip-on sandals, and my dad and I wore sneakers. Through 3 seperate security checkpoints, only she was stopped to take off her shoes, because of Richard Fucking Reid's crazy shoe burning bit. Conveniently, she was wearing sandals, so they just stopped her so they could keep the line moving.

Fucking Richard Reid, had to light his shoe on fire and be a cock about it, and now we all have to take off our shoes. I hope he gets herpes.
